UPDATE 3 Celestine:

Ok so I am having some "issues" getting good pics with a new point and shoot.... Trys??.... Hows about I bring this into work and you can look at it?? Because really there is some really nice shading on the cloak that is not coming out :( lol. Anywho..... Here are the latest Thursday / Friday pics of work done. About another 8 hours I think....

The metals look nice and the brown of the cloak is a nice counterpoint. Very smooth transitions so far. It will be nice to see how it pops with the face done.

I agree, she needs a finished face. I kinda just did something fast but with her eyes closed this will be tricky to pull off. Heck it is tricky with eyes for me. :) Thanks all for the feedback. I again am far from done, but will get there. I really like this mini alot. For old school metal it is very detailed and so far fun to paint for a rookie :). I will try to do her justice. Also she WILL have wings instead of the normal cloak she comes with. That is the gold pin you see on her jet packs. Those will be a pain I think. Feathers and lots of them.

Making good progress. May I suggest a little glaze of purple on the armour. Would help create a little depth and keeping it subtle will keep it tied in with the reds on the cloak and roses. Well, at least I think it will :p

That might actually be a great idea. I did not think of that as I need to seperate the gold and silver. I think that might work actually. Thanks for the idea.

Kirai is not exactly the most fun Malifaux mini to paint, but she doesn't look too shabby. I agree on the purple for celestine though don't go overboard. You can see progress between the two so far. What are you planning on using for the wings? Do you plan on doing anything with the base?

Wings = Trys has them as he was showing me how to do them. First time at attempting this myself, he has them posted on his WIP.
Base = Not too sure yet, but since Trys has my paint I need (using them for the starting of the wings) for the base I am in a holding pattern. As far as finishing the base, this will be a tabletop mini meaning she sill be played at least once every other month. I might try to add some clear spray to her finish so the paint soes not wear off though.

Ok it has been some time since I posted progress, but here it is. I worked so hard on this so far it seems a shame it will be used for tabletop gaming every other month. Not to worry, I know the wings dont look to good. My first attempt to doing this kind of work with feathers and TrystanGST has helped get me to where I am now. But again I am a slow learner, so its not his fault they look like this :)

Hey - I think those wings look fine! Better than fine. Now get em on her and let's see what's next!

Totally agree, the wings look fine to me. Nice that you have tryst around to help you out too. Must be good to have someone around that you can get advice from.
Your progressing nicely so just have a bit of faith in yourself (Easier said than done i know) and keep on plugging away.

Thanks all for the feedback! That is why I turned here! Well I did not know of Coolmini until Trystan told me about it, but I am here now and appreciate all your feedback. The mini should be good to go by tomorrow night. Still some detail I am working on with Celestine back before I put her wings on. But we are getting there. Plus there is a lot more basing I have planned, but will not be in effect until Friday night when I get the stuff I ordered for it at the hobby store.

Ok here is the final pics I will have. There will be a few details I will be adding to the base, but I will not have a light tent nor camera at the location since this will be given back to my friend and the items I will add are small details that will be picked up at the store right before hand.

Actually they are the same inside as outside. The lighting did not work well. Maybe if you stop by this weekend we can "fix" that along with the camera settings? All in all in person it looks really nice, maybe not award winning, but better than anything else I painted for my friend up north. So to him this is a "display" level mini but a gaming piece. If that makes any sense :) I am happy with it though.

As for whats next?..... Not sure, I have a Baneblade, the Warhammer stuff I got from you (VC), Cang, etc.... With the weather being nice tomorrow and I am off work. LOTS of priming:) Spray paint galore outside. So to finish a mini I think I may actually start the KD Preacher. She needs some attention I think. That resin color is actually getting to me :)

You suck - I initially pledged for that sophie box. But I spent that money on the vampire level instead. 10 minis vs 240 LOL

Ok, so this is not exactaly a "mini", but this is why my minis are not making progress!! It still is painting though :) So solid oak floors going in this next month, I had to cut a wall back and take out bad finishing work the builder did 10 years ago. Hence the floor looking odd :) Still a WIP though :) Now to finish painting and put up the wood trim and banister topper I refinished.
