Like a lot of RPGers who also paint minis, I obsess over getting a figure that\'s exactly right to represent my character.

I\'ve been playing in one D&D game for about a year and a half, and I\'ve painted 3 different figures for my character. Reaper just came out with another figure that I really like, that would be perfect for him with a little conversion. But I know as soon as I get him converted and painted they\'ll produce another one that I like even better!!!!

And as a painter I\'m supposed to say what, \"welcome to the beginnings of an addiction\"?
Sorry but we all have \"Bright new shiney toy syndrome\" ;):D

well, as an example, i recentkly bought steve b\'s scarecrow and a 54 mm shea. now, Steve was suffering from a momentary lapse of reason, and packed an Inge, instead of said shea. Ofcourse 2 days later I recieved shea and all is well and good, but I did decide that the sent Inge was a sign that I needed to spend money at another company that has their website done by Inge Jensen....welcome order at Hasslefree. It\'s a flimsy excuse for buying more toy soldiers I\'ll never paint, but it keeps the guilt gnomes at bay....just.....;)

It sounds to me that you have the Ken syndrom. :D Boy I hope you get the reference to Dork Tower. I do understand your pain, one of my players is kinda like that, see\'s a mini that better repesents his character so he buy\'s it. Unfortantly for him he does not paint. ???

If it helps you stop feeling guilty, your order means we can buy Kieran some little plastic knights to go with the castle we\'re getting him for Christmas :D

The orders came through from Inge last night. They\'ll be out to you on Monday and I\'ll ask Sally to stick something extra in the package for you, just for being you.

I am at the point that I even will get two copies of a figure (one for converting), and then never get around to either one since I already have too many. :(

Suck it up, sniffles. soon, you\'ll be like the rest of us, perpetually on the brink of insolvency & spousal outrage, and waiting for the next Mini Exchange so you can send away one of your old unpainted ones and get a different unpainted one in return.

I\'m about to drop $50 at GW\'s online store without even trying, I discovered they sell old stuff from the early 90\'s (like the original mark 6 armour metal marines). Will I paint all this metal in the next YEAR? Unlikely  Do I crave it like China White? Oh yes:eek:

@Drake Farstrider: Yes, I am a victim of Ken syndrome. I also have a different set of dice for every character I play. :D

@NSA - I\'m already like the rest of you. What else would I be doing in this forum??
lol

I hate it when these compaines come out with these great minis that we all just \"have to have\" and of course we all wind up saying....I just have to buy that in the vain hope I will one day want to paint it and if I wait it will be OOP......sigh..

Question:

How many of you, like me, would likley be killed if all your minis fell on you at once?

I don\'t know about minis falling on me but if I melted down all my unpainted minis I would probably have enough metal to refit the HMS Ark Royal. :D

In my case it\'s kind of like the number of nuclear bombs in the world, I\'d be killed 100 times ;).[edit]on an after thought that is kind of sad[/edit]

LOL, I feel your pain on having different dice for your diferent characters. I do the same, and I have different dice for when I DM.

Nope, but I do have a different binder for each character sheet, and a different bag for each set of dice - and some of them are color-coordinated.
(sez woman who\'s going to spend the day after Thanksgiving converting a new mini)
