Well my minis just got here from the other side of the world and Thank you Eino (Day)! The 2 you sent are both beautiful and I\'m already feeling inspired to try something special with each of them. Once I get my ogre done that is.

I\'ve never painted a Rakham mini before and I\'ve often been temped by the wolven and I open you package to find just that, and one of my favorites as well.

But there was another! digging deeper I find a beautiful GW sculpt and one that is both challenging and rewarding.

Here they are

I definately have my work cut out for me!

Heh, have fun with your minis. I really like the Irix model, but since I had two it was kinda obvious to send another to you. Hopefully you understand german, though And we\'re up to our elbows in Archaon on foots here in Finland, most stores still carry them - I still have two left...

Knowing your skill I wanted to send something interesting since I\'m thrilled to see what you can do with either of them!

I\'ve received my minis too - I\'ll take some pics of the minis Nathan (FF) sent me, probably on wednesday, if I can get the bases done by then. Thanks for the minis, Nathan - I\'ve decided to paint the ranger with his cute dogs first.

Glad to see that everyones stuff is starting to come in - and some good stuff too. Still waiting on Zora\'s to come in the mail but it\'ll make it here soon I\'m sure. It\'s a postal conspiracy!

If you haven\'t gotten your miniature(s) by the 25th of February, I would certainly take the time to PM the individual to make certain that it was sent off. Postal disasters do happen, but hopefully they will be few and far between this time about.

Looks great Mick. I tink the glaze is a good idea but it wants to be very thin so as not to drag the tone down too much.

Oh yeah it\'ll be hardly noticeable but should blend everything together, in the flesh the contrast isn\'t so stark, but when the pics are this big....

Know what you mean about your workshop being cold. I was down in mine working on my Paintaid and Chick Challenge stuff and got to where I couldn\'t feel my feet. Figured it was time to come back up where its warm. Also waiting for some stuff to dry so it was a good time to vacate the premesis.

I\'m feeling guilty, I haven\'t even started my exchange mini yet. Haven\'t even taken them out of the blisters yet. Also can\'t decide which one I\'m going to do. I\'m really tempted by the GW dwarf!!!

Colors...

Firstly thanks for all your comments & votes cheers
now to keep P_m from waiting any longer (for this at least)
All cololrs are from the Vallejo Model range:
started with Ochre Brown-856, highlighting with Dark Flesh-927, then gave it a thin wash with some Smoke-939, re-highlighted with Dark Flesh again with a little Ivory-918, gradually adding more Ivory for each succesive highlight, final highlight Ivory on it\'s own.
..there you go guys, also I\'ve just given her a thin glaze (about 1:5, paint:glaze medium) of Dark Flesh & couple of drops of \'magic mix\' which seems to have done what I wanted. I\'ll take a pic of her later before I proceed.

Yay! Mines arrived, its a very cool elf like guy with two big swords from Illyade games. I think he must be resin, coz you can\'t cast plastic like that. He got a bit broken in the post, but nothing some superglue won\'t fix.

I would never normally have got any of these minis, so it will be cool to do something different.
