WOW! that sculping vid was stunning!! It really looks like you were sculpting the dragon with your hands and some tools. I really like this last one... it is really menacing somewhat in between starting an attack or starting/landing a flight.

Thanks!

Iv got 7 more to go in this initial series so hopefully there will be a variety of poses I move to.

Now I just gotta prep this sucker for print and send it off :)

What does "polishing" involve in this case?

from what I can tell between the polished and unpolished is that someone takes a very fine grit sandpaper and smoothes out the surface. If you check out dragon 1 video vs. the new one theres definitely a difference. Its a little hard to see but when holding it, the polished version is smooth to the touch where as the unpolished is rough. Both are the same material though.

It may not be a person that does it...Im thinking its the 3D printer that evaluates the surface differently and prints out a smoother surface instead. Theres too many small fine points for it to be done by hand at shapeways. It wouldnt be cost effective for the company to have a person do it. Besides, 3D printers are 100% capable of producing it smoothed. Not sure why I thought a person would do it, heh.

I think he's my favourite so far - a very dynamic pose that would look great as a display piece or as part of a diorama.

frosted high detail plastic of Bone Shear came in today. Surprising because the box was 1/3 crushed, thanks to USPS, the mini didnt have any damage.

Anyways, the print came out great. All the sharp points and spikes are ON and Im loving it. I can also see sculpted detail where I actually used specific brushes.

This one looks far more better than the rest, like more focused and maybe precise. At least from the pics and vid. Go go go! ^^
