In order to not clutter up the 'real' post, I'm adding a separate poll. I've gotten a couple three answers, in and out of the forum, but I've had a few thoughts, and this and that. So. This poll is to decide how I will build my 40k P1500 Monster. The choices are:

1. Open-topped, as the illustration in the Monster-thread. The advantage is that I can make little dioramas, the disadvantage is it'd be more work.

2. Boxed-in/closed, as the Armageddon-pattern Basilisk, or modern self-propelled guns. Pro, less work. Con, probably more boring.

3. A mix of the two. A turret-like structure holding the the breach of the gun, rest open. Best of two world, potentially, but possibly, it'd look really weird.

4. Not that I think I'll do this, but I'll add a fourth choice of a fully open, or multi-part, piece, in order to see the 'inner workings' of the monster, such as engine rooms and the like. Could look VERY cool, but could also become too cluttered, and also, to look cool, I have to REALLY succeed. And it'd be INSANE amounts of work.

I'll tell ya right now, you're making the over the top crazy amount of work one if you allow it in the list here.... I learned that from that last time I did a poll on "what should I do..." They always choose the hardest one. Mine was 45 boyz painted in a month - never again.

Well, we'll see. I'm just afraid I'll end up doing what I said to Chrome that I would. 'I'll Make Two! One as a diorama, and the other to play with!' I hope to all that is holy that it doesn't actually COME to that, I was just being tongue-in-cheek, help no PLEASE!!!

Cassar is trying to get me to kill myself, by convincing me to do the über-over-done version. No surprise there, but I am wise to him! HAHA!
And Freakinacage, you haven't actually VOTED, even though I suppose I know what your preference is, so...

I vote for a lift off top and a couple of strategically placed magnetic panels, (maybe the floor below?) to reveal inside scenes. Does that count as "half and half" or "incredibly detailed super-thingy"?

BUT I think you could do this without detailing the entire inside and making it into a life-long project. ;D

The latter, as I have considered it. Augh.

That's what I'm afraid of...

So, most folks went for the open-topped variant, as similar to the illustration. Well, then, work commenses, again, on Monday. Gives me the week-end off.
