Damn I\'d love to see their global sales, broken down by month, 12 months either side of this hike.

One or two hikes back they priced me out of the regiment boxes. What was a buy at 40 and 45 became an ignore at 60 (NZD).

Like many I had been spending tousands a year on their minis, paints, novels, and brushes. Then, partly through this site, discovered a huge world of kick ass minis, paints, brushes outside the world of GW. This year I expect to buy about $0 of GW product. I would imagine it takes some number of teens to replace a long term customer giving them that much money.

As some have said, market forces at work.

The link provided by miniaturelife is very interesting. Apparently GW\'s per share price was at a high in August last year corresponding to the release of Wood Elves. Shortly thereafter the price dropped almost continuously up til now. Apparently the market objected to the entry of wood elf investors. The stock failed to rebound with the release of dwarfs as dwarf investors shun marketable securities in favor of Gold, Gromril and shiny bits.

Is it me or do the new Dwarves look like a machine sculpted them? The stlye seems different somehow and I dont like it.

As for other companies I have suddenly found a renewed interest in Starship Troopers...

The recent surge in restock orders has made it abundantly clear that our current production capacity is insufficient to meet the current demand of WARMACHINE products. Ral Partha was purchased by FASA, which went out of business. Some of the RP guys got together and bought back the company, but for legal reasons had to change the name. The company is now known as Iron Wind Metals, still employs many of the same people it did back and the day, and still has many of the original sculpts available. It continues to bring back some of the oldies, as well as commissioning new sculpts for a number of lines.

To continue on this story. The FASA guys also restarted under the name Wizkids games, which still owns all the old Fasa licenses (Battletech/Mechwarrior, Shadowrun etc.) and now seems to be doing very well for itself selling pre-painted Heroclix miniatures.

Looked at their stocks the other day - thing is they are still up over where they were a year or so ago.

Course, the funeral industry in the States has a higher markup on its goods - lets hope that GW aint pushing the 300% mark yet

I thought Fanpro was producing Shadowrun?

On a side note I did see that There is a new edition of Cyberpunk out. Hmm, it always intruiged me as a game.

Yeah, I think Fanpro is reprinting the old classic battletech rule books and source books as well, but Wizkids owns the licenses.
