Hi all,
i recently bought a wraithlord for an eldar army i am never going to finish (BAM cynicism). after shaving it, cleaning it up, and assembling it, i found it to be the biggest pain in the @ss mini i have ever tried to paint.
so i was wondering: are there any minis that just really give you the sh!ts?

EDIT: I just found some more.
1. Eldar Dire Avengers
2. Eldar Dark Reapers
3. Eldar Striking Scorpions
4. Wood Elves Mounted Lord
anyone seeing a pattern here :D

Worst mini I ever had for assembling was an old Citadel Scorpion, purchased for use with Elves Dwarves and Dungeonbowl (using the wandering monster rules from an old WD).

I was pretty young at the time and just could not get this model together. Eventually I paid a local pro painter (owner of FLGS that sold Dragons and other \'typical\' figures at local art events and ren. fairs) to assemble the damn thing for me.

I still have it and never did paint it.

Another one that has been giving me issues for years is the original Ork Dreadnaught (before they called them Killer Kans). This thing has lost it\'s weapons and banner pole I don\'t know how many times in the 20 or so years I have owned it.

I\'ve done a Wraithlord and a unit of Dire Avengers lately and didn\'t have much trouble. I painted the DA\'s heads offline and glued them onto the finished models though... that made the job a lot easier.

I\'ve had problems with some of Privateer Press\' large warjacks (Khador Behemoth, the Avatar of Menoth, Kharchev the Terrible...) They just explode in my hands at various times during assembly. I end up pinning practically everything.

The master of the Ravenwing, on the jet bike thing.

I spent about 3hrs filling and pinning and only assembled about 20% of it, after that I just got bored.

The Space Marine Landspeeder is a horrible kit to try and put together.

I also bought a Cynwall Titan dragon recently, looks like that could be fun to put together!

Bread, the kit goes together real nice, it just doesnt meet up at all.

Big ass gaps in it and crap.

And its a horribly expensive kit in the first place.

Master of the Ravenwing, dremel, on high speed, lots of beer, and not being very careful.

Quit eating minis to avoid this phenomenon. Or maybe it\'s the brushlicking.

build wise the annoying things fall into two categories....fiddly to build and assholes to clean.....
the first category includes Dark elf executioners metal devastators and the Eldar Revenant Titan...the real stinker is the god awful bolter array on the land raider crusader..
add to this list any models that are in way too many parts than they need to be..e.g elf plastics (I hate elfs)

bitches to clean 1 word Forgeworld.....nuff said

bad to build

the chaos tank spider thingy (Defiler) had it as a commission piece, airfix kits rule compared to GW ones, non fit that well.

Got to put my vote on two different Privateer Press models....

1: The Harbinger of Menoth... there\'s actually a therapy group forming for
people that can\'t get her together....
(and I\'m doing a second - one for play, one for show)

2: The Guardian heavy warjack, also from Menoth. Lance and banners both refuse to stay attached, and I\'ve got a pin in the lance nearly an inch long.

The Chaos Daemon prince (original)
Is a pain - being all metal, all the parts are heavy and the joints extremely weak and therefore need pinning and GSing everywhere.

Same goes for Inquisitor figures.

large metals = lovely SCULPT, crappy builds.

just say that you don\'t like eldar, is there one eldar mini you like??

I don\'t think that eldar minis are a \"pita\"

though I think that there are some other minis in other ranges that are a bit annoying... like alexia ciannor from privateer press, it didn\'t turn out very well :(

The Ogre Scraplauncher and the Tomb Kings\' Screaming Skull Catapult have reputations for sheer pain in the arse-ness to assemble. Personally i\'ve never tried to assemble either (and with good reason apparently!lol)

For me it was the Titan Gladiator from PP\'s Skorne box set. Nothing fit right, i had to pin everything and the torso was 2 sections that not only fit bad but was hollow and i had to fill it with plumber\'s putty before i could pin anything. Just a mnightmare.

GW\'s Balrog with whip was the same way Onis, 2 halves to the body both hollow, I had to fill them with putty first, the wings were a mess at the body junction, the head is 2 pieces that do NOT fit well at all. All in all I think I spent about 10 hours pinnng, filing and green stuffing that bastard.

Another PITA was the Ral Partha Imperial Dragon, NONE of that fit right, except the wings.

I\'ve got a list lol its all GW, but thats just because I paint a lot of them, some e.g. the giant are great figures.

Galrauch dragon, what a pile of shit, whoever sculpted that needs his knackers chopped oft, and I\'m still trying to paint it as I accepted the commission.

Wood elf eternal guard, crap

Frigging Kroot thingy on a big kroot animal, that just will not go together. I need welding gear for that pile of lead.
The thing is its a good sculpt, I just cant get it even close to fitting together.

Forgworld, great sculpts, but you never get what are advertised, there very badly cast, e.g. youve spent the last 4 hours getting the flash off, and filling bubble holes, then the last bit and the gun falls to bits. Its got a hidden bubble, right where it shoudn\'t have one. Shame as I love there stuff.
