My first castings!

Helloooooo again!
Knocked up a mould yesterday and spent half the night tweaking it and casting some samples:

Had a few problems with the masters with silicon getting into places it shouldn\'t... Does anyone out there have any advice/experience they wish to impart. It would be very gratefully received. Cheers folks.

I am most definitely going to do both! Probably flog em on ebay in packs of 5x 25mm. Got some \'rocky\' ones to do today. If any of yers are interested, PM me...

Give your masters a thin coat of paint or varnish and let dry before moulding. Usually does the trick.

I\'ve tried this and it worked really well - it also took the sheen off some of the pieces making them more primer friendy!

Casting could be yet another \'arm\' of this hobby I\'d like to eventually try out some more.

Space, have you tried a mold release agent? Pam spray cooking oil works in a pinch. Go very light and it helps to get the master out of the silicone.

Temperance can give you some pointers as he does lots of molding of his sculpts.
