So a friend of mine is a die hard D&D gamer. You may think your friend Saul down at Gamer\'s Emporium is a die-hard dice chucker, but in reality he is a complete poser compared to this guy. He started in 1979, and has never stopped. 72 hour marathon sessions are not uncommon for him. He lives in a shack in the middle of the woods so he will never get interrupted and his entire house is devoted to gaming.
Well he\'s not as crazy as he sounds, in fact hes a blast to hang out with. ANYWAYS he has a massive collection of ancient lead. Grenadiers and Ral Partha\'s dated 1979, some even older. He cant paint worth anything and has given me a nice selection of some older pieces to paint for him.
Most of these are fairly worn down from use and gaming and storage, but I\'m gonna try my best to make em look really good.
He also said I can keep whichever ones I want. yay greed!
Ral Partha 1979
\"Guthrie Grenadier 1981\"
TSR mfg by Ral Partha (no date)
\"HHG \'94\"
Ral Partha 1979
nothing written
Ral Partha 1979
Ral Partha 1993 (Shadowrun figure)
\"MA\" on bottom, no info
Ral Partha 1979
As I was leaving his house to take the minis back and start on em, his young daughter Karma asked me to please paint her favorite mini of her dad\'s:
1988 Grenadier
This is just the first of several boxes filled to the brim with these minis, and many of these are one out of 4 or 5 copies he owns.
I\'m kinda excited. Could be the lead exposure talking though.
I\'m planning on cleaning them up nicely first. years of use have left who knows how much skin oil on these guys, so I\'m gonna strip em as though it were paint (not too harsh)and attempt to repair things like smashed noses, etc.
The paint job may not be a golden daemon due to some pretty rough shape on a couple, but I\'ll make him happy, and his daughter will love her princess.
\"Matt, could you paint her for me?\"
\"No problem at all! What colors would you like her?\"
\"Blue and purple\"
\"Blue and purple she shall be!\"
Sometimes I like kids. especially when they can talk and be interesting.
