My First Miniature Ever

This is my first try at painting a miniature - It\'s a Cadian Soldier (Is he Canadian? - sorry i don\'t know much about the background or game, other than he looks cool). So I used acryllic paints I normally use for painting water color pictures. It was fun, but frustrating, and I had particularly hard time getting the eyes to look just right (with the pupils and the white glimmer in the eye). Anyways I really appreciate feedback!

well if you\'ve had your own little moment now i suppose i could offer a little critisism, for a first mini this isn\'t too bad at all, i think you need to water down the paints a bit which will help you to get smoother highlights, but it seems you\'ve got an eye for detail, basically just practise more and more because youve obviously got the basics down already, the only thing i could suggest is to use some modelling putty to give him a bit of a beer belly, maybe give him a a tanktop too, he\'d obviously get a better respose around here then :p

haha good suggestion for another mini. Although i dont really enjoy the modelling as much as I do painting.

Yep. Just like drybrushing is the opposite of wetbrushing. ;)

Nice first attempt though. On my first minis I never even used either of those.

Not bad for a first go, and all in 2 hours if my first mini had looked anywhere nere as good I\'d have been very happy. I would darken the mouth and pic out the teeth myself just to make the face realy stand out. Left you a comment by the way.
