This is the sticky thread. There are lots of painting tips and tutorials for every techniques that will help you to improve and to discover new things you didn't know before.
Also, keep posting your minis regularly to get advices and feedbacks.
To the OP: I don't think I have anything I can add. Practice and patience. Personally I would set a loftier goal then 'Evey Metal painter though, from what I understand the job doesn't pay so well. Say Millionaire Entrepreneur with 50 golden demons. That's a job to aspire too![]()
Mate I would love to see some better pictures of your UM command squad especially apothecary. That's a really cool idea!
Some advice on the lighting; try to have light sources from the top and both sides of the model, you can also construct a light box out of cardboard. If you need more lamps you can borrow them from around the house. You could also find some fairly priced desk lamps at a local retail store if you would prefer your own. The models are looking good. Are you using a lot of inks? In a few of the pictures some of them look glossy. If you are, try to water down and put fewer coats of ink or spray them with a light coating of matte finish. I would also try to limit the use of inks to make it more challenging. Try to learn where shadows should naturally fall on a model by establishing a light source angle. Good luck!

High quality mini's but unless you're like 16 and haven't peaked your artistic skills I can't see you becoming an eavy metal painter. Sorry
Keep posting mini's though really nice!
I would say that art isnt something you can "peak" in, its not like sports where your body cant compete to the same level as younger athletes.
Basically keep practicing and see where it takes you
You dont wanna be a em painter anyway, you have to work in Nottingham!![]()

Word. Art isn't a "Natural" tallent. It's a learned skill. Or so I learned going to Savannah College of Art and Design for 6 years.I would say that art isnt something you can "peak" in, its not like sports where your body cant compete to the same level as younger athletes.

Yay, Chaos guy done, grass needs one more highlight.
I like your chaos guy but I agree with Necroghast that the back of the cloak only looks like ifit had received lots and lots of washes. I think you should highlght your shades (is it very clear?) to soften them. A good solution is, as Necroghast said, to use darker reds instead of black. You also can mix red with dark blue.
