Necroghast WIP

I've stopped working on my chaos marauder for now. I know, lame end to a WIP but I just haven't been enjoying it too much. (plus the sculpting it needed called for a couple longer sessions which I can't manage now because of school.) However, I will start a new WIP.
What should be first?

Huron Blackheart
A Ringwraith
10 eldar (that I already started painting to tabletop quality)
Chaos Marauder Horsemen (which I have been having a really hard time filling the gaps on)
Anything from my chaos battalion (Maybe some chaos warriors?)

Also if anyone wants to suggest some cool themes for any of these tell me as I really enjoy making intricate bases.

I suggest going with the Ringwraith Necroghast. Single figure, can be approached very simply for a quick satisfying finish (always nice after stalling on a previous project) or can really be worked for interesting effect. How about slinging some of this at it http://www.coolminiornot.com/218526 Automaton's Ujahu (with tutorial)? A chance to play with a new technique over loads of cloth. Oh, and do get the colour onto him, I've got a couple of RingWraiths sat in a box & there's no way they're going to be painted up in mopey black :D

From one fellow project abandoner to another, good luck :good:

Cheers, B.

That would be cool! I've never been able to blend anything but white so it would be good practice. Plus I just got some nice matte medium so that wil be useful.

Yeah go with the ringwraith. :)

That would be cool to paint him in the lighter colors (sort of like when Frodo puts on the ring at Weathertop and the wraiths are in shades of white. Lots of potential there).

Well here's what I have so far:

First I basecoated it grey then sprayed it from the back with white for the whole highlight establishing thing... Then I added in some charandon granite and some dark grey. I'll be adding in some blues and greens soon. (yes I am basing this off of automatons article)

Excellent Necroghast :good: You don't waste any time do you? :D Your Wringwraith is in a nicer pose than mine too :( I'm looking forward to seeing how he progresses, cheers, B.

Added in some blues and greens. I definitely need to do more as you can barely see any changes in these pics. A little bit of pooling occured on the back but its nothing I can't fix.

Hi Necroghast, I'm getting touches of blue & green from it but slightly bigger pics would help. Looks as though it's going to be a nice subtle piece of work, far superior to boring old flat black :D Hopefully some small points of highly saturated colour to come? Or is that not the intent?

Keep it up :good: Cheers, B.

I would add some minimal layer of grren and blue to the highlights too... only a little bit. That would add some ghostly shine on it...

Greetings, Taggi

Should I use the base I was going to use for my marauder?

There will be water going down the middle over the leaves.

Nice painting on the Ringwraith, like it :)
Conerncing the bases, I do prefer the first one - looks a bit as if it could be a place nearby the Weathertop, in my eyes. Just, as if the Ringwraith was at the base of the watch tower's rock.
