Ah, that\'s why I don\'t have it. I think they\'re also mentioned briefly in a fluff novel as well, I\'m not sure which though since I\'ve read pretty much everything in the BL other than Gaunt\'s Ghosts.

Many didnt like the book-since it basically says flat out that the Tau were created by the Eldar (and also hint that the Tau may be screwed when the aliens the Eldar used to help modify the early Tau come calling) and drops a few other \"bombs\". Other then that I enjoyed it actually- I found myself loving the orcs more and more after reading it.

Well IMO it sounds more like they introduced the Ethereals, after the Tau had been around a while, what with their sudden appearance after a load of lights around the planet, mentioned in other places, and the Diamond Organ only being in the Ethereals. its definitely the sort of Manipulation the Eldar are Famous for. i dont think they would have the will or ability to create a whole race from scratch, but modifying certain individuals with the ability to guide it along the path they want very quickly is very much the Eldar Style.

and i liked the tau more myself after reading that, cos if my assumption is correct then its a much higher level of control exerted on the normal Tau by the Auns than was hinted at before.
I\'ve always liked that sorta idea, there being a Seemingly Good Perfect society with humble kind leaders but underneath its the worst form of Tyranny and societal control.

Actually-they DO have \"lizardmen in space\" already. They were called the Slann. Basically lizardmen with toad masters. They left the lore sparse but what was said was really cool.

At one point the Slaan ruled the largest empire in the galaxy-while the Eldar were still young. They created the first webway (broken down Slaan Warpgates are the cause of the WF realms chaos problems) and their technology was way beyond. Apparently they searched for the mysteries of life and the universe-something about staring long into the void, seeing something so terrible that they abandoned their empire and went back to the swamp.
The earliest RT books list them and their abilities.
