What are you talking about?

I can accept that NMM are for 2D and metallics are for 3D work. I still try the technique. What is the big deal?

Also this is this guys opinion. It doesn\'t make him out dated or closed minded. He just donesn\'t follow the NMM crowd. Is it really that big of a deal?

In either case, it was a blatant waste of paper. Interesting read, mind you, but *still* a blatant waste of paper.
Those pages he could have spent *showing* us how to paint metals right----instead of *telling* us that we are painting them wrong.

Someone needs to just call him out and tell him to put his money where his mouth is----he needs to write an article for next month on producing master-quality metals.

That would be a good use of paper.

I don\'t know I still can\'t accept the argument that NMM is for 2D only. I might be able to see the argument for SENMM, but even there I find the argument faulty.

A mini will always look it\'s best when within context. When that context changes, nothing, neither NMM nor metalic is going to work for all possible conditins and angles, with various lighting sources and effects around the mini.

As for the Eastenders my saintly mother watches that show faithfully, so you better not be dissing her show. It\'s not easy for Americans to learn foreign languages, but she\'s able to understand their extreeme accent with ease. More power to her I say.

You\'ve talked some gibberish, so have we, so who cares any more? Let\'s all get along like the twisted lovers we are.

Well, isn\'t this a farce. I went by the Memphis World of Battle to get my copy (made a a special trip even though I\'ll be there tomorrow), and it seems that the main distribution point for everything GW in the country is the only place that hasn\'t received their shipment of the magazine.

Just my luck.

Quote: Well if you\'re talking about \'proper\' painting, you\'ll realise drybrushing ain\'t that valid. It\'s not really \'painting\' when you\'re rubbing half-dry pigment over something. And if you\'re not sold on either the NMM or metals, it begs the question just what are you sold on?

Drybrushing is a valid form of painting and doesnt necessarily have to be done dry. When I said Im not sold on either metals or NMM I mean I cant do NMM to a decent quality and my metals need work so for me I dont know which is the better method. But I believe both are valid for mini painting. I mean dipping a mini in paint is valid if thats the effect your going for.

Sort of like an \"All natural artificial flavor\", or like \"boneless ribs\".

The monkey boy just wants a Limited Edition Citadel Master\'s Paint Set. Before we give it to him, I think we should cut all the bristles short for drybrushing.

Do you find these \'loads\' on your front lawn? And are they from the neighbor\'s dog OR cat? ;)

If I \'drybrush\', but I use wet paint, then am I \"drybrushing\"? Or am I highlighting? What\'s the difference, how much the paint has already set up? ???

You see, wet-drybrushing is the new drybrushing. You drybrush wet, using a dry brush and wet paint. You should try it, it\'s so much better than just drybrushing or wetbrushing.

I thought it was called overbrushing (with wet paint) and drybrushing with well, dry paint. Might be wrong though. :) all these terms.

Personally i think drybrushing is good when starting to learn how to paint but i think you kind of shy away from it and prefer other methods when you get more cofident with paint. Not that i have totally abbandoned drybrushing all together but i use it less and less. Some things are better off drybrushed but not many. Damn, i remember when a mate of mine showed me how to drybrush and i just drybrushed everything :) them were the days. Chalky city ;)
