New Year, New Projects

Nice death company, you could try for dried blood, but the dark brown might not show up too well. Kathryn, I'm pretty sure it's in that alternate dimension cats travel through with my brand new silicon colors shapers I only got to use on my green stuff once before they disappeared. Damn cats.

Oh noes, Zab! I've got those too and I love them. Time to alter the wormhole for the cats because if you do decide to try not only pigments but metallic pigments - you really need those silicon shapers. Use a brush with metalics and they go POOF - dust everywhere but where you wanted it. Use those shapers and the stuff behaves (regular pigment - you can use regular brushes but the metallic stuffs a PITA.

Okay, I'll stop hijacking your thread William. Sorry!!!

And on a different note this is a big project I'm working on this week. This is just the base





I just have to paint the barbed wire, touch of the eldar wing and finish the building since it broke off the base and then stain the wood and it's done. So by EoD tomorrow I should be onto the model.

Well I haven't had much time to update lately, just been so busy.
New WIP stuff for next weekend!
Base and model WIP:


He's magnetized into the socket so he is still usable in a game.
Two and a half hours and the base is finished besides a little blood trickle and snow.

And more WIP done tonight! I spent like 4 hours painting!
Dark Elf is almost done now.



Started the Templar again. White is almost finished minus some weathering. Not sure if the cloak will stay white or become black. Face is still WIP.

Did you go to War Gamers Con? I just didn't have the cash - well I did but I didn't...you know how that goes. How did you do? What was it like? Did you have fun? Tell all! Inquiring minds want to know. lol!

I know what you mean! It's bad timing for me since it's in between my last Paycheck at my old job and my first Paycheck at my new job.
But your a week off! Lol it's this weekend, ill be driving down tomorrow evening after I get off work!
Hopefully I can finish everything! My plan is to get it all to a manageable place and finish details Saturday morning!

Alrighty guys! My first day is wrapping up and it's been crazy! I checked into the hotel last night around 11 and got back to work.
I entered 6 models, 2 were done a while ago.
I didn't take pictures of the tournaments or other entries, I'll snap them tomorrow with my good camera!

I was upgraded to this awesome room.

Wow! Those look really great!

Every motel I've been in where I had to paint had crappy lighting but yours looks pretty good. And very nice! I hope you did well in the contests! I really wish I could have gone but I never would have been able to finish anything on time. And by the time I left here and got there - I would have been in time for closing ceremonies. lol!

Mine would have been bad but there was a floor lamp I moved from the Front room to the desk
This is the last entry I didn't get to photograph before entering! I've never done a historical piece before but he was fun!

Oh he looks familar - isn't he the Grand Master or Templar or something. Don't make me go dig through my boxes. I know, internet is easier, but I think I have that one.

And we're probably going to have to wait until 4-5 pm central before finding out the results, huh?

I couldn't resist him haha

And we'll see the order of awards. Painting is supposed to be announced in 20 minutes but they may do the tournaments first! Ill be keeping you posted! And I took photos of a lot of other entries on my camera so when I get back to Fort Worth tonight Ill add them in!

Just another update! I'm on the road again.
Leaving with two golds for historical single and sci-fi single!
Unfortunately neither category had prize support! So ill have to make my own award!

Wonderful! Congrats William! I'm so happy for you. Unfortunate there was no prize support but still - Gold is gold. Very well done and you had some really fine pieces. Can't wait to see pics. Be careful driving home.
