NMM - A daft and pretentious practice

Come on, bigoted is a strong word. There\'s some strong language going on here considering we\'re talking about 28mm figurines with paint on them. Where\'s the humour, the love?

To use an analogy, if someone calls you an ugly bastard, and you\'ve just won \"Best Looking Man In The World\" award, then you will just laugh his criticisms off. By responding to his comments, aren\'t you displaying your own doubts and fears about the hobby?

Wow, there is a \"Best Looking Man in the World\" award? That is a great idea! lol

And Montka is coming up with more lame explanations as he goes along so seriously, why let the topic go to waste? Let\'s see what other topics he has an opinion on, he must be right! :cussing:

Not wanting to continue this discussion for the sake of it or anything, but I want an answer - what makes the \"trinkets\" effeminate? Why is Swordwind effeminate? And why do you like to use that word? :D

Soon as you bring a coherent argument to the table you might actually get responses in kind ;)

Wow, that was like totally random. I hope this is intended ironically, because otherwise you would appear to be a tosspot, so who comes out ahead? lol

what a great thread guys some funny stuff here. as it has been said, there room here for all styles so why narrow yourself down to just one. i\'m crap at metallics AND nmm but i enjoy (sometimes) painting both. they both take skill to master. some minis look better with nmm, some with metallics. it\'s horses for courses if you ask me

I\'m with Vike on the trolling speculation. This guy sounds like some crusty Napoleonic gamer from the TMP boards, or a drunk Frother. I wonder if there is a thread on one of those boards about this thread. \"Let me see if I can crank up the CMON\'ers.\"

Not foul-mouthed enough! :D

No kidding, those guys make most sailors blush!!

They don\'t just make sailors blush, they make sailors look at what foulmouths they might become and begin to help the community by, for example helping old ladies over the street.lol

Personally I agree with you to an extent Montka. I hate NMM. It just seems stupid and unneeded. for example, a model should (in reality) be wearing shiny silver and gold armour, but people paint it grey and yellow with over extenuated highlights. and thats if its done by someone who can paint well, if not it just looks even more grey and yellow with crap highlighting.

Just my opinion.

p.s. im not trying to kick up a fuss i\'m just trying to get my feelings known

You have to appreciate the amount of work that goes into a belivable NMM miniature however, I personaly hate the effect, i find that the most impressive miniatures are the one who despite being 28mm high still look almost real and no-one could ever accuse most of the NMM models of being realistic

Welcome to the forums Fat Lad. Its all fun and games here. I just think folk are winding each other up over nothing really....having a laugh I expect :)
One thing i do know is everyone has opinions and whenever you express them openly you have to expect anothers view in return......some views can be overly expressed however *whistles*
