I had a feeling that the low quality water-based metallics were causing people to have a bad feeling about metallics in general. Now that I think about it, good old testors metallics used to give me better results than what I get with GW paint.

I agree about both methods being useful depending on the situation.

Now, about this thread. It seems to be getting longer but what exactly is it accomplishing? I think if one asks the top painters on this site, one would find that they use both NMM and metallics. I think a thread about how people accomplish certain effects using both techniques would be more useful to people that a discussion of the relative merits of a style.

I think I\'ll start one and see what happens. It will be a nice test to see if top painters really do guard their secrets.

that would be very interesting.
i am ready to share my secrets ( i have done that allready because i try to answer each personal message and mail that i recieve even if it is hard sometimes because i recieve a lot ). But from my expierience it is much harder to explain a technique in words than to show it on the object.
