I only use GW paints too, jus mix up a grey and keep adding white for the blend then just use a light blue (add white if you aint got one light enough) for the shading.

Depends on the finish you want..
generally Golds your looking at scorched and bestial brown with snakebite leather , bubonic brownthen bleached bone.
Silvers and steels Shadow grey black and white..
seems to work ok.
this site has some guides using GW

I went into my local GW and asked one of the staff which colours i should use for gold NMM, he just turned round and shugged his sholders! Said it was really hard to do and would just recommend using metallics!

My way of doing it.

I normally mix Snakebite leather (about 2/3) with chaos black (about 1/3) (which becomes slightly greenish)... use that as basecoat. Then highlight with snakebite leather (usually at first mix in a tiny bit of black and then pure snakebite leather) and then mix the snakebite leather with skull white. The final highlights pure skull white. Then do the shadows with snakebite leather and more black and finally pure black at the deepest shades.

If I want a warmer gold NMM I replace the basecolour with scorched brown and snakebiteleather. Mixing the first highlights with an increaing amount of snakebite leather, then pure snakebite leather. Then white and snakebite leather mix up to pure white. Shadows will be brown and black up to pure black. (usually still mixing in a tad of snakebite leather to keep it looking golden)

Cheers for that cdukino, il have a try doing it that way. I have tried it using blends of brown and yellow but it just ended up looking like a sickly wood colour!:|~ !

It\'s mainly the snakebite leather giving the gold effect in this case... so keep that colour prominent.

Sometimes when i used to much brown throughout or shaded and highlighted the snakebite leather away to much I got a more copery look... which looks nice to... just not gold.

The gold here is just snakebite leather, white and black like in the first way I discribed:

example 1

This is what i got when a bit heavy on the brown like in way 2

example 2

Remember contrast is everything (well a lot atleast)

I prefer the second way too... the warmer brown one (and it worked better at that miniature too as I think the nmm looks better there then in example 1, not just due to the colours). It is more work though. You need to blend in an extra colour. But worth the efford I think

its just the GW always seem to want you to buy stuff

eg.\" hello there do you play fantasy\"
\"we...\"
\"good do you want to see the new rule book?\"
\"n...\"
\"ok here it isnt it wonderful do you want to buy it?\"
continue until you manage to escape
