@ MarkusTay --rats vs. opossums? Sounds like a proper subject for a new poll!

\" Darth Foley -- zombies in the sewers? I believe Kolchack did away all those in the \"Night Stalker\" series, same way that he got rid of the gators. :D

Everyone knows the zombies left to star in Thriller, one stayed at Neverland and when the others came back the rats ate them. Now on to the alligator problem. What happened to the really big one they made the movie about? You know the one that was eating people and stuff?

Yes, New Yorkers are way to cynical to be cheerful.

A guy goes to the New York library to check out a book but dosnt have his library card. The librariarian says \"well, I will need to see some PROOF that you live in New York\". The guy says \"Oh, I can do that\" and stabs her.

This is a late response:

I agree with EvilDave about the grunt work. I was An Infantryman, and Airborne Ranger. I know what it means to be a grunt (and proud of it) After reenlisting I worked as an electrician on Apaches (\"elite technician\"). While the aviation folks were still good soldiers; their caliber was distinctly different from the ground-pounders.

Quote by MarkusTay:

To the first, in about 10 years after we have turned their female population into prostitutes like we did in Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, the Phillipines, etc... and like the U.N. is CURRENTLY doing in the Congo and elsewhere.

I spent 2.5 years in the ROK and don\'t remember the female population being prostitutes. On the contrary, I met many Koreans who were grateful for what America did there. BTW, that was a UN intervention, now a 50-year cease-fire and it\'s ROK and American soldiers standing on the 38th parallel; not UN soldiers. As for the female populations of the other countries I wasn\'t there and we don\'t run those countries. But I assume that when you say \"we\" turned them into prostitutes you are referring to the American representatives there. This would be the soldiers. As a former soldier in the ROK I\'m none to pleased at this characterization.

Quote by MarkusTay:
As far as the \"Ugly American\" stereotype, Bush takes that to the extreme. The UN tells him not to invade, and he basically tells them to go F__k themselves. Putting the desires of a single nation above the consensus of the world? NOW THATS ARROGANT!

If by world consensus you mean the UN; well we pay @22% of their annual budget. They are inept and ineffective. Churchill rightly predicted in his 1947 \"Sinews of Peace\" speech that the UN would become \"a cockpit in the Tower of Babel\". If the UN were less dangerous they would remind me of K.A.O.S. from \"Get Smart\". Lastly, it\'s very easy for the \"world\" to decide that it\'s OK for \"those\" people to live under oppression.

Right about the time of the invasion of Iraq France went in to the Ivory Coast. Zero, no, nada, UN approval. Nothing was said about that one. Why the double standard?

Re read your facts, the licorn operation is a UN operation, look at the news and you\'ll see they are wearing litlle blue casques, yeah UN soldiers !! ( well french soldiers on Un mission to be precise since UN soldiers don\'t exist).
And UN troups in the ivory coast are on a peackeeping operation. Wich means they go in between the two fighting factions to stop fighting and preserve local population. They do not go in to invade the country and I don\'t think they killed any civilians will in the country.

To Philologus - In my post that you \"quoted\" I left several links. Read them. They have information about the Ivory Coast problem. I guess the tens of thousands of Amer-Asian children that Suddenly \"appeared\" after the Korean War were all products of Immaculate conception? Please... live in your fantasy world but don\'t try to convince us.

As far as the zombies in the sewers go, they are still there. We just call them \"Homeless People\" now. ;)

@MarkusTay: quote:please... live in your fantasy world but don\'t try to convince us.

If by \"fantasy\" you mean actually living in that part of the world then I guess I qualify. However, I think it\'s the broad generalizations you made which are causing me consternation, not necessarily your lack of first hand info.

quote: I guess the tens of thousands of Amer-Asian children that Suddenly \"appeared\" after the Korean War were all products of Immaculate conception?

I doubt that they were, however, it is quite a leap in logic to then assume that they were a product of prostitution (which implies that payment was made and the conception was not forced. which then implies that this profession was/is tolerated by the Korean govt.?.?) This all makes it increasingly hard to understand your generalizations that \"we turned them into prostitutes\"

@FrenchKid: The UN did a super job of getting in between combatants in Rwanda.?.?

Oh... my mistake. You didn\'t pay them...

Guess that means we turned them into whores, not prostitutes. As long as nothing immoral ocurred...

I did nothing of the kind in either regard. And I find it perplexing, if not slightly amusing, that you are now unequivocally entrenched in the camp of \"morals\" after your previous posts in this thread. For example:

quote \" abstinance until a monogamous relationship? That a lot to ask of a normal human male (or female for that matter). \"

Particularly when you wished for the divine firebombing to \"trailer park hell\" of those people would be so audacious as to READ the BIBLE and attempt to live their life according to a code of ethics 2000-years old. The adherents of which spent their time in such silly pursuits as, abolition, combatting oppression, the development of western science (even Darwin was a clergyman), law, and medicine.

Incidentally, I keep in contact with (Korean) friends who still live in Korea, and Americans of Korean descent who are fellow members of my church. Their mothers, daughters and sisters do not deserve the appelation of \"whore\".

Ooh things have gotten narky......

Anyone have theories on how ethical behaviour while on International Military Deployment(with or without UN sanction) affects the gullibility of those not blessed to have been born in the continental USA, and consequent ramifications for the miniature painting populace.

Secondly (Markus might be able to give me a straight answer), if large numbers of military lead to a number of children with mixed heritage, are there a large number of half human/half penguin (or half human/half sheep) people on the Falkland Islands?

Actually, The creatures of mixed penguin/human heritage only exist on the Galapagos Islands. You can read all about them in Kurt Vonnegut\'s novel of the same name. ;)

You know what, I\'m not going to even bother arguing this point anymore. I already apologized for my rant, yet you threw it back in my face. Last time I \"turn the other cheek\". I directed you to the links in my earlier post; those are news articles, I don\'t make this crap up. I am also a very moral person in how I live my life. I simply do not presume to \"inflict\" my personnel values on others. God has given us all free will for a reason, and if you force people to be moral with laws, that sort of defeats the whole purpose, doesn\'t it? I am not egotistical enough to think that God needs our help. I believe ALL things, even the bad ones, happen for a reason. That is why it is called faith. As a final statement, I will say this: I do not believe in invading other countries under false pretences. I was all for the first Iraq war because it was for the right reasons. This one was a political distraction technique, \"smoke and mirrors\" as it were. I may come off anti-Gov’t, but I am not anti American. As imperfect as our system is, it is still the best in many ways. And although I do not believe in invading countries for fictitious reasons, I would be right in the front lines if a foreign invader landed on our shores. And I would expect my sons to be there, fighting right beside me. Now... I will no longer post in or even read this thread. Better men then we have been arguing this stuff for an eternity, and I tire of being so \"humorless\". - Mark
