Lets see - from what I have been able to find online - NK Claims to have tested another nuclear weapon - we have evidence of a blast in the 20 kiloton range - but no appreciable nuclear fallout in the downwind area -

Even when you do it in a mountain cave you get some fallout. So, did he have another fizzle like in 06 - or did he just set off 20 kilotons worth of conventional explosives and say he was testing a nuke?

You do not have fallouts with underground explosions, unless you seriously screwed up with your yield calculation which is hardly possible in NK case (they don\'t have enough material to screw up upward)

But you are correct and I misspoke -

Everything I have been able to find online indicates that everyone is trying to confirm that the blast was nuclear - even if it was, we\'re looking at the issue you just mentioned skeeve - does he have enough material to produce a third bomb closely on the heels of the second? Its taken 2 years to get to this one after he fired the 1 kt fizzle in 06 - which had appreciable atmospheric radiation effects. And I do find it hard to believe that they could screw up so badly in the workers paradise 2 years ago and then perform the second shot almost perfectly now -

China isn\'t in the middle! they bought their way into the big boys league and like the money they make from it.
They may help North korea fund North Koreas projects but they don\'t actualy partake in those projects. It\'s exactly how western goverments have acted over the years, it just took china a long time to figure out how the game is played.

It\'s getting blown up out of proportion by the media and goverments as it buries all of the crap they are currently pulling (hello, global bullshit taxes to fund their one world club)

This is nothing more than a really big..hey Look at me.. crazy guy over here.. give me some money and oil and food and Ill be a good boy. Mean while the majority of the country of NK slowly starves to death.

NK doesn\'t have a delivery system capable of accurately delivering a nuke and like the last time they test fired a large rocket, we watched them via satellite for days fueling before they launched it. If a nuke goes anywhere near a launch site the world will know.

Now the 17,000+ artillery tubes in range of Seoul SK might be a different story.. 1 hours shelling could land 500,000 high explosive rounds.

I mean physically in the middle of Russia and NK.. Russian territory goes a good ways west from where it actually touches NK....

Its possible. Not everyone will forget all the rest prior to this that still needs to be done. Many will, but us smart people out there still know how to call senators and governors and get them back to doing their jobs and get el pres back on track.

Still Japan isn\'t very happy and neither is Soeul, and a nuclear threat just after the disarmament (6 party) talks failed is a bit much.

I don\'t know why people are afraid of so called \'evil\' stated getting nukes, Russia have a tonne and India have some. They are pretty capable of dealing with the middle east without the major western nations poking our noses in.
If the cold \'war\' never had a nuclear weapon fired in anger then the chances of the super evil communists firing one is pretty slim to outsiders. I wouldn\'t want to live in Seoul however, because that is where N.Korea would probably fire one (or on invading troops of course!).

As long as the USA don\'t provoke N.Korea and threaten war then there really isn\'t that much to worry about. I read this morning that Kim has announced his son as his successor so all this weapons testing was to rally the population behind him to make sure people still supported his regime.
