Thanks BAM!

Got sidetracked from the Reaper figure I started by adventures in a galaxy far far away . . .

FYI: Stormtroopers are pain in the rear! Still working on touching things up.

Any advice on the black uniformed officer. The highlights can be discernible under the daylight lamp, but in a warm yellow lighting you can't really tell. I'm afraid to go further in fear that the black won't read as black. Should I try pushing it a little bit more? Or retake the black?

Does the white one read as white? I feel I went a little too dark grey in some of the folds. Not too particularly satisfied, but I'm ready to move on to other parts of it to get these guys done. I want to get the whole core set of this game painted up before unveiling to, and playing for the first time with, my group.

Those stormtroopers are all aiming at the same target aren't they?

It might be worth just pushing the highlights a little bit on the top sides of those folds for the black clothed officer. As long as 90% of the material is black it should still register as black.

Looking very crisp and clean though Oct. Good stuff!

Those storm troopers look great. i know how hard it is to get the clean seperation of blacklining on white armor and yours looks great.

Nice job with all the white. I know how tough that can be. I also like that you are adding a bit of individuality to the officers it will help the army stand out more but remaining cohesive.

@Fox - Foxy, my man! Lol even if the troopers are aiming at the same target they wouldn't hit it, haha! Okay, yeah good call. I added another layer of highlights and also tried to reinforced the black a bit. Haven't taken any pics yet but will try this weekend and post an update. Thanks for the advice!

@BAM - Thank you! I'm somewhat of a Star Wars superfreak so it was only a matter of time before I got to this game and it's miniatures, haha.

@Ten Ball - Thanks for popping into my thread! I appreciate the kind words.

@Maenas - Thanks so much! Yeah I can't wait to actually play the game. But as I mentioned I want to get the whole set painted up first, and I don't paint fast haha. I'm excited though!

@KB - So you feel my pain, lol. The troopers still need a little bit of touch ups but after that they are good enough for the board and cannon fodder for the rebel heroes. Thanks!!

@Guawol - Thank you sir! If I never paint another stormtrooper again it will be too soon, lol. Unfortunately, there are more in this game line so I must center my chakras for further expansions, haha. And thanks, yeah since there are a variety of Imperial officers in the Empire so why not diversify, right?

Looking good Octavian....get some green stuff out and add some 70s StarWars moustaches to those officers!

Thanks Hairster! LOL! I was thinking of doing just that, actually! However, not too familiar with working with green stuff; I was just going to paint on some facial hair, even knowing that won't be too convincing from close up. Who knows, maybe this will galvanize me to actually get some green stuff and give it a shot.

I'm a bit belated from being out of town but man, I love the subject matter of what you're painting now and I agree that more cheesy facial hair is needed here! You're really bringing the Empire to life and those tones on the officers' jackets are really well done. Will you be painting more Imperial Assault in the future? If so, I'll definitely be looking forward to it!

Converting a zillion identical officers for a game seems like a perfect way to master the art of sculpting 70s-style facial hair. Go for it.

Camo is looking good. I would wash the creases with a dark grey or as you mentioned, a watered down Nuln Oil. It should be enough to give the impression of shading, without altering the colours of the camo too much. I tried a similar method on the pants of my Goblin King.

Hey all! Long time, no time! Hope y'all are doing well. I've been away from painting for a couple months but am getting back to it. I've worked some more on Juinan. I'm digging the pants but not sure about the blue coat. Not sure if I should take the highlights brighter or what. And yes I know, I need to fix the nose. Got a little damaged from being dropped, lol. Whoops! C & C and advice welcome!
