Ok I must be weird but I didn\'t balk at that. (Even when I saw it the first time).
It\'s obviously something she\'s committed to to go that far just for body modification but perhaps is a way for her to overcome some self image issues.

Perhaps I\'m strange (ok no side comments there please) but I don\'t see Tattoos as unpleasant, especially when they are done well, hence why I enjoy Miami Ink. I have friends who have some serious Ink and yet I have none.

Similarly scars don\'t really bother me, except on kids. I\'ve got a couple of surgical ones myself as well as marks caused by accidents and I\'ve worked alongside an original member of
The Guinea Pig Club.

People have been looking to alter their body image for thousands of years, there\'s even a proscription against it in Leviticus (19:28) but what\'s the big deal really? Hell I\'d far rather see that kind of work done to look like Art than some pathetic Vanity Plastic Surgery.

I\'m not sure, is that a mutant rat or a man who wants to look like a mole lol
Tattoos are absolutely rubbish (no offense to anyone) and doing like that is just gore. Doesn\'t the person who is doing it puke?
PS: Mods can alter at will if they find that this is offensive.

Tattoos can be really impressive and cool. In Japan, we went to a dinner at an Onsen (hot springs) Hotel and when I was in the baths, there were some Yakuza members there with their full body tattoos. I was trying to not appear to be looking, but the level of the images really was impressive.

Hmmh, Interesting. I was reading GaijinSmash and from what I gathered there are a lot of Onsen which prohibit tattoos simply because of the association with the Yakuza.

You can Google Images it as \"Puff the magic dragon\".
While it\'s well done artwork, it\'s not to my taste plus the guys got a Prince Albert.

What I do find kinda strange is that the guy will have to shave the area constantly in order for it to be seen effectively.

Thank you for making such a sweeping, generalized decision...

Seriously, can you actually make a statement like that and honestly expect it to be OK just because you typed \"no offense\"?

I have to admit, my first instinct was to type something equally judgmental and direct it at you -- just so I could type, \"Oh, but no offense!\" after it. But out of respect for the forums, I\'ll stay away from personal attacks (even if it would\'ve been solely to prove a point rather than actually being of vindictive intent) and simply ask a question out of legitimate curiousity: just how is that \"no offense\" thing supposed to work, anyway?

Because he\'s a teenager with limited life experience and has demonstrated a somewhat Black & White/Rigid approach to his understanding.
He hasn\'t as yet learned (like we old farts lol ) that there are so many shades of grey between the two.

I viewed the No Offense comment as trying to be something more along the lines of \"Sorry but Tattoos gross me out and I can\'t understand someone wanting one, but it\'s their choice. But without being as wordy.

Thanks for reminding me of this point. Otherwise, I might have to :flame: . I have a LOT of tattoos, and am very proud of all of them.

Thats an old one :D But I think she would have been better off with a tatoo :D

To be honest I am not against tatoo\'s if they are done correctly there have been occassions when I would have liked one myself but I am too much of a wimp when it comes to pain :(

I have seen some excellent ones such as the fox hunt which starts at the anckles and travels all up the body, over the shoulder and down the back with the foxes tail disappearing in the butt. Also the eagle on a persons back when done nicely can look amazing but I also have worked with a few people that got as far as the outlines and then never went back for the colouring in sessions because the pain of it was so great.

These days there seems no end to the things some people will have done to their bodies such as silicon implants of stars etc and even hoops in there ears to stretch big holes in the ear lobes.

Why??? Well that is beyond me and each to there own as they say :D

Imagine jumping in the pool or into salt water when that thing wasn\'t totally healed.
oh yeah! or having a hot shower. i remember seeing a vid of a cyclist from the tour de france (who had crashed and stripped the skin off his leg that day) getting into the shower (it was part of the tv coverage so it wasnt dodgy) and the screams!!!! oh the screams

i personally love body modification (not that i have any). but it has to be aesthetic and tastefully done. also it\'s gotta be done in a place that is easily covered. it really bugs me when people get crazy shit done to themselves and complain that they cant get a job.

Haha, great website. Azrael is a hoot. For those who don\'t know it\'s a blog about teaching English in Japan, by a guy who apparently resembles our own .Ebonbuddha... and yet his students would STILL try to \"kancho\" (goose) him for yuks.

As for the original link... I think it was the pic of the strips of \"bacon\" that got me... wow. But since I suspect this individual would rather die than work in an \"Office Space\" environment she\'ll probably always be around people who think her scar job is cool. She is very lucky it did not get infected though (as far as we know). Considering even a simple piercing can get wickedly inflamed I don\'t even want to think what could happen here. I would worry about necrotising fasciitis myself

The end result is really rather pretty compared to the horrific process.

Seriously... I don\'t need to walk through the slaughterhouse to enjoy a steak.

The endresult looked like a normal tatoo.
So why not just make a normal tatoo? :)Maybe it\'s because they want to prove that they can take pain.

Interesting stuff. I liked this comment:

\"That\'s just revolting. Tattoos are fine, but fucking hell - removing your skin to create designed scars? That\'s sadistic.\"

lol
