It\'s obviously something she\'s committed to to go that far just for body modification but perhaps is a way for her to overcome some self image issues.
Perhaps I\'m strange (ok no side comments there please) but I don\'t see Tattoos as unpleasant, especially when they are done well, hence why I enjoy Miami Ink. I have friends who have some serious Ink and yet I have none.
Similarly scars don\'t really bother me, except on kids. I\'ve got a couple of surgical ones myself as well as marks caused by accidents and I\'ve worked alongside an original member of
The Guinea Pig Club.
People have been looking to alter their body image for thousands of years, there\'s even a proscription against it in Leviticus (19:28) but what\'s the big deal really? Hell I\'d far rather see that kind of work done to look like Art than some pathetic Vanity Plastic Surgery.

Hmmh, Interesting. I was reading GaijinSmash and from what I gathered there are a lot of Onsen which prohibit tattoos simply because of the association with the Yakuza.Originally posted by Yramrag
Tattoos can be really impressive and cool. In Japan, we went to a dinner at an Onsen (hot springs) Hotel and when I was in the baths, there were some Yakuza members there with their full body tattoos. I was trying to not appear to be looking, but the level of the images really was impressive.

Thank you for making such a sweeping, generalized decision...
Seriously, can you actually make a statement like that and honestly expect it to be OK just because you typed \"no offense\"?
I have to admit, my first instinct was to type something equally judgmental and direct it at you -- just so I could type, \"Oh, but no offense!\" after it. But out of respect for the forums, I\'ll stay away from personal attacks (even if it would\'ve been solely to prove a point rather than actually being of vindictive intent) and simply ask a question out of legitimate curiousity: just how is that \"no offense\" thing supposed to work, anyway?

He hasn\'t as yet learned (like we old farts lol ) that there are so many shades of grey between the two.
I viewed the No Offense comment as trying to be something more along the lines of \"Sorry but Tattoos gross me out and I can\'t understand someone wanting one, but it\'s their choice. But without being as wordy.

Haha, great website. Azrael is a hoot. For those who don\'t know it\'s a blog about teaching English in Japan, by a guy who apparently resembles our own .Ebonbuddha... and yet his students would STILL try to \"kancho\" (goose) him for yuks.Originally posted by Dragonsreach
