Hahah, I love you guys, I upload that piece of shit and you still have something nice to say. I took one look at the posted closeup and went 'ERMERGERD' and almost deleted it, but decided to let it go.

They look a lot better now, finished basecoats and cleanup and started on the simplest of the highlights yesterday. Not risking any closeups though!

I see that I've gotten gunk in my camera lens again... c'mon phone, last another six months, and you can retire.

After doing simple highlights on the light grey, I tried to work a little on the weapons. I tried doing TMM using NMM techniques, as this should be a simple way to make 'em look good on the table. Wasn't happy with the results and went to bed. Took a few shots this morning, would really like some feedback/help on these:

(these are three different minis)

Looking at them with fresh eyes, I'm not totally unhappy with the placements, but I can see that my gradients need to be a lot smoother for it to work properly. Either way, I'd really appreciate some help with this. In the meantime, I'll look for some online tutorials.

Your robots came out fantastic oistene. I really like them and the bases both.

Your Nasier is looking good too. I had to stop on mine for the moment but they are not forgotten.

Thanks Moe!

I more or less cracked the code with the metals, what was giving me trouble was that I didn't apply the shade smoothly enough, and the swords are mostly single edged, while almost all my reference pics had been double edged. In the end, I tried many different things and made it work. Some were good, others not as good, and what I initially was the most happy with, the naginata which was the only double edged blade there, made me the least happy in the end. Either way, it works for now, I'm moving on.

Nealy all highlights done, except the reds. Everything got just a single highlight, except the robes, which got two. The red got one and will get at least two more before I shade.

Nearly done! Somewhat bad picture, I took it swiftly in the priming room after spraying with dullcote. Not much remains, going to sharpen a few highlights, add some pigments to tie the mini and base together and finally neaten up the base bevels.

Any last input before I finish it off? :)

Wot? They look fine here, could it be because I uploaded directly from iPad? I'll take a look later. Found that I needed to do some improvements, the torsos were too bland. My intention was that the upper shirt and the belly bindings were the same fabric, but it looked as if I had forgotten to paint the bindings. So I glazed them with some Agrax Earthshade, and picked out the stitches near the neck. Looked better, might need to add another glaze. I also placed a glint under each eye to define them. No more pictures until done, sorry.

BAM - I'll think about it and PM you.

Those are CORE menials and CORE L-CST from Dark Age, Flu.

I really like the CORE models, got a whole force cheap.

Ah, nice. Dark Age has a lot of really sweet looking models. I got to see all the studio paint jobs at their Adepticon setup, made me want to buy every single model. I'm thinking of doing a Forsaken squad for CB 2016, either Warknights or the "Grand Templar Marius with Yael and Nabu" pack.

Yeah, as a professional CMoN fanboy, I got way too many Dark Age minis. Marius is great, though I hate his gnomes, they are ugly and have fiddly parts. They could paint up well, though. Warknights are also very neat models, I look forward to seeing you do either choice.

And they are DONE. First a desktop shot, and then the boys are huddling together in the lightbox. Now to fix up a proper picture of a few of them and upload to the contest. It is beyond the abilities of both me and my photo setup to get a good picture for the whole lot, so a handfull will have to suffice.
