Okay, finally something to show off. Only had a short session tonight, so I let zombies be zombies and went straight for the Morgaur. I put some water effect in the buckets on the base (my first time using water effect, so I resisted trying to add any 'splash'), painted over his eyes with 'Ardcoat, put a red glaze on his tongue to give it some color back and fixed a couple of small flaws here and there. Then added some Nurgle's Rot to his mouth, before I went to work on this:
What you see there on the Morgaur's jaw (the bottom left in the picture) is a hair from my head - one of the grey ones, better opacity and it won't be missed (I tell my kids I get another gray hair in my beard and/or head every time they scream and argue and once all are grey, they will have to put me in a nursing home).
Then cut it and added some more. You can't see all of them in the picture, but there should be seven total.
Finally I added more Nurgle's Rot. What surprised me is how hard it was to make the hairs take the paint. I had to let it dry a bit and let it thicken on the brush, adding several thick layers (no watering here!) before I started to get the desired effect.
Another full frontal. I think I'll add more Rot tomorrow, not 100% pleased yet.
At first, I didn't want to add any 'external' slime to simulate the Morgaur's acidic bite, but after seeing Sprocket using this trick in his blog, I had to copy it. Actually, I think it will be more sturdy than I first thought. I considered making a strand of slime from one jaw to the other, but decided it would break too easy. The Morgaur is so huge, it will probably not see much gaming, but it *is* a gaming piece.
