Chip board bases, that's a new one. Very interested where this is going.

I made a quick step-by-step for the Samaria in Ashes group for these, I'll share that here as well:
1) Put some filler in the bases. I used cheap spackle. This doesn't have to be in any way smooth or even. Wait for it to dry.
2) Find some electrical components. This could be anything, mine are mostly computer boards. Use a plate cutter and cut out pieces of appropriate size. Both single pieces and several smaller pieces will look good. Roughen up edges as needed, and break off any transistors or other parts you don't want.
3) Using strong glue (I used Gorilla Glue), attach the pieces to the bases. Let dry completely.
4) Using superglue, add more pieces to the bases, this could be screws, cogs from watches, wires, mesh, parts of sprues, anything you'd like. Let dry again.
5) Water down some PVA glue, and put some on the bases in all places you don't really like - gaps, edges, anything. Dip the bases in fine sand, and let the sand sit on them for a few minutes before you shake off the excess.
6) Add more parts if you want some to be untouched by the sand.
7) Spray the bases with a clear coat. This is your 'primer'. I used a cheap glossy coat for this.
8) Wash the entire base with Agrax Earthshade or a similar wash. If you want them less dark, water the wash some. Let dry.
9) Add some Nihilakh Oxide. Don't overdo it! Add a little here and there, either small amounts or larger amounts where you wipe away the excess.
10) Add some Tyhus Corrosion. Again, don't overdo it.
11) And we're done! At this point, you can add some weathering pigments if you have them (Which I will).

Thanks guys... and now minis for the bases!
Sometimes I try to do my best, to improve, to make something good. And other times... I just want to finish stuff! This was one of the latter times, I spent about two hours getting these ten minis 95% done. They need some cleaning up and weathering (maybe I'll test some battle damage ala BAM), and then they can be mounted. The other half of the army I'll take some more time with, practise metal a little.

This was one of the latter times, I spent about two hours getting these ten minis 95% done. A damned good attack then, forward into battle..... yeah, but you wouldn't be caught dead doing what I've done to these. They weren't as much painted as attacked with acrylics.

Great work Oist ,loving the bases they give me some great ideas for some future dioramas I just hope the missus doesn't mind me pulling apart here computer ....great work champ.

Thanks guys! I actually finished up these guys before the weekend, but didn't take the time to take pictures. Did so now, testing out my new photo setup:
I got myself two more lamps and a cheap rubbish bin from IKEA - it works out allright, but I think I can tweak it a bit more. Light placement is a bit off, and I need to learn a few camera tricks. Also, the background I downloaded from Massive Voodoo and printed at work seems too glossy, I think I want to look for something else. Either way, these are a lot better pictures than I've ever taken in the past, so this is a bit of a milestone.
Considering time, effort and result, I'm rather happy with the minis. They'll do for the gaming table! I'm happy I used these for practising pigment use, since the pigments didn't behave exactly the way I expected. I've done some terrain with them in the past, this was the first time on minis. The varnish did away most of the crumbly effect I accomplished, but I'm not sure if I can get that effect and at the same time secure the mini for gaming.

Started up a new project yesterday. Getting awesome and improving technically will have to wait, I'm currently in a groove where I just want stuff done. So I decided to assembly line paint some Wrath of Kings models:
And this is how far I had gotten by the end of last night:
If anyone is wondering what happened to those Zombicide minis, I 1) got fed up with them, and b) had a run-in with the printer at work, so I couldn't get the extras for the bases I wanted. That will have to work until I can have a chat with one of our printer experts so that I can have the correct printouts. Yeah, I know, so much for getting stuff done.

It's been a bit on and off due to a lot of national holidays with mandatory family time last week, but the Nasier army is slowly and steadily shaping up. Almost done with the base coats, just need a little more brass and some touch-up before I can highlight.
The light colors got a bit lighter than intended, but 1) shading will make them darker and 2) I think I like it this way, gets more contrast. It's a bigger problem that I got over eager and laid them on too quickly, so the finish is a bit patchy. I'll see if I can't fix that, if not, it is what it is. If it is, I'll make sure to practice using light colors with 'bad' coverage later on.
