Thanks fellas. I'm finally done getting married, and managed to do a little painting today. Tried to step up my game, and practised at little two-brush blending. I'm getting the technique done now, next step is to properly wrap my mind around how to apply it. Results here:

You might wonder why it looks so fuzzy... this is because I chose this as a practise piece for a reason. I've used liquid mask on it, so after spending all afternoon blending... I teared half of it off. Finally, it looks like this:

I'm not using liquid mask like this again, in several places the metallic paint under the grey came off, revealing primer, and in even more places, the primer came off as well revealing resin. Also, I have no meaningful way to repair this, so I'll need to hide it. Still, I think this was an useful experiment.

Well congrats my friend. Welcome to the club. Its a fun club to be part of and before to long you will adapt new hobbies to use your skillz with...like painting entertainment centers lol. Did you guys ever make it down to Florida yet?

Thats an interesrting looking mini. Liquid mask is great stuff, but its very situational. I'd advise putting a coat of vanish on the mini to protect the basecoat beofre applying liquid mask. I use it a lot and have no real issues with it.

My wife was talking about going to florida disney land in the next 5 years (When my 18m old will actually remember going lol). gotta have tons of cash though.

You all know my models have all sorts of shit thrown on them scrapes scratches,mig pigment powders,verdigris,rust, and oh yeah blood for the blood god.I use all these not just cause I like unique looking finish to my models but I'm always using them to hid marks,resin mould lines and oh yeah we're paint scrapes off.just a hint.

to be honest I prefer the gritty look on models. You know so they look like their alive, rather than painted for the aesthetics

Yep. That's what I like about these CORE robots - I want them filthy, gritty, banged up and some times even covered in blood. So I can practise new techniques on them, and even if I can't get it quite right, I just hit them with loads of weathering and they still look better than 80% of the minis people in my town place on the table. It shouldn't be legal, really.

Voted on all dude. I think the experiment with the liquid mask turned out great buddy and I can't see the spots where it went wrong tbh

Thanks Tero, Darth. The spots are quite visible, but it is hard to see in the picture what is grey paint and grey resin. However, I saved it pretty easily, some silver in those spots and a coat of earthshade on the whole model fixed it up. Now to sharpen it up a bit, before I base it, throw on some pigments and try my hand on some OSL.

Opening the least exciting package first, and that's saying something since I think this one is pretty darn exciting. This is my pledge from the Wamp kickstarter, containing all kinds of goodies. First out is brsuh soap, a bamboo roll for brushes, a discounted Scale NMM set and "The Black Hand Special", a set put together for Wamp by Scott Hockley:

Meeting the gaze on this guy made me go 'woah!' The Excutioners are my favourites, closely followed by Hopkins and this guy. Thanks a bunch, BAM! The one-eyed/three-legged one isn't home, so I cannot get his approval until Monday, but I'm sure he'll like them.

Doing glow was easier than I had expected, I have to refine my technique some before it looks good, but I feel certain that I'll be able to do it properly with a little more practise.
