Time is coming for the 77th Annual Academy Popularity Contest. Might as well place your bets now! Even though I haven\'t seen a vast majority of these movies, I know how the Academy votes by now. Also, being an actor helps you know who sucks and who doesn\'t...
Anyways, on to the predictions!

ACTOR IN A LEADING ROLE
Don Cheadle - HOTEL RWANDA
Johnny Depp - FINDING NEVERLAND
Leonardo DiCaprio - THE AVIATOR
Clint Eastwood - MILLION DOLLAR BABY
Jamie Foxx - RAY

My Pick: Johny Depp knows his work, just give him a statue!!
Probably: Jamie Foxx because emotions still run high about Ray Charles\' death, or DiCrapio because he\'s got the popular kid\'s vote.

Alan Alda - THE AVIATOR
Thomas Haden Church - SIDEWAYS
Jamie Foxx - COLLATERAL
Morgan Freeman - MILLION DOLLAR BABY
Clive Owen - CLOSER

My Pick: Morgan Freeman got the SAG (Screedn Actor Guild) award for this, so it\'s a good bet he\'ll see gold.
Probably: Anyone else, just to be contrary to SAG.

Catalina Sandino Moreno - MARIA FULL OF GRACE
Imelda Staunton - VERA DRAKE

My Pick: Catalina deals with a lot of stuff in \"Maria\". You always want the most unsermountable obstacles in your work to make the journey of the film seem more important.
Probably: Hillary Swank because of all the buzz of the movie, or Kate Winslet because the comittee still feels guilty about not giving her one for Titanic (it was fun to watch her reaction, though!) :p

My Pick: I\'m torn here between Shrek and Incredibles.. I\'ll have to say Shrek because I don\'t want Disney getting any more credit for anything!
Probably: Incredibles because Disney owns the Academy, Hollywood, the West coast, and a major portion of the World..

My Pick: Okay, I haven\'t seen any of these so I can\'t say... :p
Probably: Million Dollar Baby, the Academy loves Dirty Harry.

There\'s others, but who in the mainstream really cares about the technical stuff? (You guys should, tough, actors can\'t act without lights and cameras!) I\'d be making bets if I didn\'t give up gambling for Lent..

My money is on The Incredibles for animated feature, because it is the best (although Shrek2 was great).

Jamie Foxx for best actor (leading) because his performance was outstanding.

Can\'t say for the rest this year, unlike previous years. But who knows ???

The show will be awkward, overhyped, uncomfortable and unwatchable.

The celebrities will take themselves far too seriously and swell their already bloated egos.

I actually am quite a big fan of movies, just not so much celebrities and even less award shows...

Is there any industry out there that pats itself on the back more than the film industry?

The Passion of the Christ is now one of the highest grossing films OF ALL TIME and there is hardly a mention in Oscar contention.There are alot of good films out there but I find the exclusion of this one to be telling of the movie industry\'s bias.

I\'d accept all of SuperVikes predictions and add just a couple of my own:

The show will run ridiculously long

Some ignoramous will try to make a heartfelt, but ultimately stupid political statement. (Having known several of each, why anyone would look to either a musician or an actor for political knowledge is beyond me ???)

And one guarantee:

I will NOT watch it.

It may have been one of the highest grossing, but was it good? :p

And what bias does it speak of? Pro-satan? I don\'t really know much about the situation, but I think it\'s rather commendable that they didn\'t include a movie (for once) just because it made shitloads of money. Jesus wouldn\'t approve.

I go with Nelson on this and I await the day when all films are animated and have no acting involvement so no buggers can accept oscars apart from IT geeks. That will make me split my ring! lol.

My prediction for the Actress in Supporting Role: Natalie Portman. Although I think she was as important in the movie as Julia Roberts ... So this nomination either means she\'s better (not seeing Julia in Leading Actress nomination), or that the Academy has agist issues lol

I thought it was boring, shallow, focusing on the wrong things, and filled with tasteless movie klichés. The fact that it was gross, probably made it even worse instead of better!

Well, I would have to go with Johnny Depp for Finding Neverland. The guy can act, even if he doesn\'t pick the most Oscar Friendly rolls.

And best Animation, Has to be \"The Incredibles\" I\'m really glad I saw Shrek 2 before this one otherwise I wouldn\'t have enjoyed Shrek nearly as much.
