Other people showing off your work?

I don\'t really paint on commission so it is not really a problem for me although before GW changed the specialist games sight my Warmaster Orcs & Goblins were in the gallery for a while if that counts.

I wouldn\'t mind seeing a gallery for commission work that others have bought though. I think would also benefit the painters possibly by putiing more work their way as well.

But then again I haven\'t painted anything for a few months now so need a kick myself to get motivated again with the shows that are coming up.

There was a guy who\'d bought quite a few things from me on eBay. He wanted some commission work done at some point, so we stayed in touch. Later on, his wife became pregnant, so he started getting rid of all his miniatures and such to make room (I think they might have been moving to a new house as well). He\'d put all the figures he\'d won or bought from me on eBay at twice as much as what I\'d got for them (the $250-$350 range). No idea if they ever sold or not. <g> Kinda lost touch after that, too, but hope he\'s doing well.

Anyway, I don\'t really care one bit if someone showcases my work as long as nobody is claiming the work as their own (or entering them in contests). Painted way too many figures to really keep track or care.

Talonicus: I\'ll wear you down... month by month hehehe

demonherald: I always miss your auctions somehow. That sucks somewhat as I really like a lot of your work.

Neil H: The few I saw of yours at the last UKGD were very very good indeed, a collectors area for your stuff would be great I think.

p.s.That lentricorp is going down lol

At some point I\'m going to see what they\'re really made of :D

{/subtle hint]

As to anyone else showing off work I\'ve been paid to do, not a problem. Commissions are the little savory delicasies in painting.
I have no problem with People showing off their collections of Painted mini as long as they don\'t try to claim the work as their own when it\'s not.

As I\'ve mentioned before I don\'t collect other peoples painted works BUT I do have two very generous painted Figurine gifts, which I hold very dear to me.
One is TAB Studio\'s Sharpe Bust, which arrived at a very dark time in my life and was a welcome burst of sunshine.
The other is a REAL TOUCH of CUTENESS, which has only just arrived and is a combined Christmas Birthday Present form Becca, (IPAINTMINIS).
(I\'ll get that photo\'d this weekend All being Well.)

Well stuck a guest gallery up on my site to showcase all the models I have bought or commissioned from other people.
There\'s a few write ups to follow, but other than that it is done. (bit busy to finish them off now)

Cheers Squidders for getting the wheels in motion :D

Chris put it up for auction but it didn\'t sell, so he put it up for trade. I got it for a few 54mm kits, a few other models and a reduced price :D bargain for how good it is!

The Skiing Dwarf is ace mate, loved looking at that at GD!

My favourite from your collection has to be that 40K Marine when you brought it up to GD last year for people to look at the work on the cloak is absolutely amazing.

I suspect he has either a bionic eye or a way of enlarging - painting - shrinking the mini.

Saying that, the lace on the whole of the dancing girls dress is probably the best (and most detailed) freehand I have ever seen.

That lace work on the Jade Dancing Girl is really something else, I can see why she is charging $400 upwards for a commission these days and her work certainly seems to warrant it although I haven\'t seen any of here work close up, Joe are you bringing her along to Salute so we can oggle her???

I only poped over to the hotel for a brief period, one of which was to buy you a beer the other was to speak with Neil ref a mini he had and I spent a good while talking to Adi before I had to run off again, hopefully have a better chance to talk at Salute though as it is a lot more laid back and not so hectic :)

Probably a good job you are not bringing Marike though at least some of us will have a chance in the painting competition lol
