Other people showing off your work?

You know what... I would love to save up for a bit and actually employ an artist of Marike\'s standard for a year to paint for me.

Though that\'s probably taking the whole commission thing a little too far isn\'t it.

Also, all of the artists I have dealt with have been an absolute pleasure, very professional and at the same time very nice people and I\'m an arsehole of a boss so I don\'t think inflicting myself on someone like that would be a good idea. lol

Joe do you tell the person how you want the mini painted? Or do you just let them use their own imagination?

It really does depend... sometimes I have seen one I really like and ask for something of the same feel or theme.

Honestly though - the talent and imagination of the artist is kinda why I\'m asking them to paint for me in the first place so I usually just mention a few things.

I think what I asked for the Sophie mini was something like:

\"no lava or magma on the base please, NMM as opposed to metallics and a bronzed beach babe complexion\"

Something vague like that gives massive room for artistic expression and very good odds that the mini is what I want or damn close to.

But some people have asked me what I want so they know what i\'m after and some I have specifically asked to just surprise me.

The Jade dancing girl was a surprise!

the main thing I have found is to try and be a nice customer, pay instantly, don\'t hassle for time and I personally don\'t even try to haggle.

I really ought to get a site going, I have 76 pieces that include:

16 GD winners
15 \'eavy Metal pieces
29 GW published pieces
33 by Matt Parkes plus an Orge Kingdoms army by him!

Recently bought another Ikea tower display cabinet to get them all in!

Joe\'s idea of putting them on his facebook page isn\'t that bad BUT I seem to recall reading somewhere that facebook has the right to use without royalties etc any photo that you post is this true does anybody know???

They can indeed do what they like with images while they are on the facebook website. The second you remove an image from the site, their license to use it expires. So if they take the p*ss, removing the image will stop the urine extraction.

Thats what I thought but then I don\'t think they ar likely to want to use a photo of a mini but some of my other photos I might get a little upset if they used which is why I haven\'t put up any of the penguins I took in the Falklands recently or very few of my other travels.

The math doesn\'t work because all the 16 GD pieces are included in the GW published total, same with all the other groups, some are covered in 3 areas!
