I am pretty sure he was showing us that last picture to give us an idea of what it will look like when we are done, so we can pick out a model we would like that shade of flesh.

I never was all that studious! Glad to hear there will be intermediate pics, as I am liking that skin tone a lot.Right then as promised here is stage 2.
Im a bit worn out at the minute so will try and keep it simple but well informed.
First off here is a pic of the stuff Im using
The paint is all GW....just try to match the colors if you have a different brand.
catachan green,shadow grey,tanned flesh,elf flesh,skull white
Windsor + Newton acrylic flow improver.......use magic wash etc if you want.This gives the paint a good flow and seems to retard the drying too.
Good brush,Ive been using Da Vinci Meastro pocket brushes,expensive but worth every penny then some.
I use a plastic pallette with 10 small wells in it and kitchen towel/paper for excess drying.
Right then on to the nitty gritty.
Put some tanned flesh on your pallette and mix in water to about 50/50 paint/water.
What we are looking for is a diluted paint that keeps its colour still.You should not see brush strokes in the paint but at the same time it should not be that runny it will pool in areas.
Add a very small drop of flow enhancer.I do this by just dipping the tip of my brush in it and then touching the thinned paint.You will actually see the paint loose its grip(sorry but I dont know the correct term for this)
Add a small touch of shadow grey and catachan green.This takes away the pinkness of the tanned flesh.Not essential at all but as with any basecoat it effects the final result.
OK then.....dip your brush in the paint and remove the excess by touching the tip on the towel.You shouldnt need to wipe it.
Apply the paint to the figure.Dont just slap it on but caress the figure with your brush.Get a feel for the contours and the pose and look.This might sound odd but for me it gives a lot of inspiration and gives life to the figure.If you care more about it you will do a better job.
If the paint runs and pools then its too thin or you have too much on the brush.
Cover the whole skin area.Becuase the paint is that thin the place you started should be dry.So just keep on going until you have a solid basecoat all one colour with no blotches.
Once you have this its time for the eyes.
I have done a quick photoshop set up for the eyes to make things clearer.
Start with skull white and thin it about 50/50 paint/water......DO NOT USE FLOW ENHANCER....this will make the paint run too easy.You want a little thickness for this bit.
Always do the eyes starting at the nose and working out.Get a small amout of skull white on your finest brush and just stroke the eyeball.What I do is move the brush slightly away from the eye and keep getting closer until you just touch it while moving the brush.Keep doing this until you get a solid white on the eye.
REMEMBER eyes take a lot of practice to get neat.
Dont worry too much if you go over with the white though.
Do the other eye.
Thin some Ice blue(or whatever pupil colour you want) 50/50 with water.Paint a very thin vertical line where you want the pupil to be on each eye.Do the other eye,keeping the lines very thin.
Now look at the pupils to check whether they are looking in the same direction.Add more pupil colour to the eyes by adding more thin lines until the pupils are the same size and looking on the right direction.
Next use some thinned chaos black about 50/50 paint water.Paint a thin line above the eyelid from the nose outward.Keep doing this until you get a good solid line.This is the top eyelid.
Do other eye.
Next 50/50 bestial brown/water.Do the bottom eyelid the same as the top on both eyes.
Use thinned basecoat mix to clean up anywhere you have over done.
Using brown on the bottom lid helps to reduce the raccoon look

Thanks. He\'s a 1988 piece from Ral Partha.
The catalog called him \"Zoid the Pinhead Barbarian\" but his name-bracelet says \"OID\".
Scalewise he stands nearly twice as tall as any 1980s era true 25mm mini with a head the same as a 25mm or slightly smaller.
Damn, This is so not real. You tell us to paint actual Irises??? I mean cmon, I was lucky to get a black dot in the center of the eye on my other figures... But, no, You want us to do blue Irises!

Sorry I cant get any better pics. Tried 20 different angles of light and all, just to get the eye in focus. I never knew what a difference this dot of color makes.

@Etherion.....excellent.....what scale is that...for 28mm you dont really need the black dot for the iris though it does look better if you can pull it off without filling too much of the white.I just use the pupil colour and see what it is like just to get a hint of colour.54 mm are better for getting the iris and pupil on though its harder to keep them round.

It\'s 28mm DarkAge Fig. It\'s tiny. \'S why i thought it must be impossible. I will try without the pupil on a diffrent fig sumtime. Just a dot of green or blue without black, mmm... Mayhaps I use a 54mm in the next class, whatever that one will be.
I had a hard time getting the pic at least semi-sharp. The Camera is pretty old and I have the worst light. Need to get me some good lamps soon \'neways. Took me as long to get the pics as it took me paintin...
I am very excited what this Girl will look like at the end of your Class. Especially when We compare it to the small pic of the blackhaired Lady i posted. Who apart from \"dead\" eyes also has a very weak skintone.
