Painted Ladies
Mytola,
You\'re off to a good start! Your miniatures have a very antique look to them. In general, I would reccomend thinning your paints and washes more. Also, try to keep them clean as you work.
As for the faces, lots of good tutorials exist here. Check out Jen Haley\'s article on faces.
For starters, try painting the entire eye-socket with dark brown, then painting in the whites. Now dot the pupil with black, (using a Micron Pigma pen if you wish.)
Another method is to paint the entire eye-socket white, then paint a thin black line down the middle of the eye. Now edge around the eye with dark brown.
Eyes are important, probably the strongest point of focus, (assuming the model isn\'t wearing a helmet.)
Another tip is to mix some thin red and a touch of black, forming a rusty reddish brown color. Now carefully paint inside the mouth with it. Highlight the lips if necessary, darker on the top lip.
Hopefully, this will help you along. Good luck!
