Painting schedule 2006

One thing I\'ve learnt recently is don\'t plan anything as things ALWAYS takes longer than what I have estimated. :( I\'ve got to finnished some ultramarines and start about 30 marines of each chaos legion aswell as some eldar stuff...i might even have time to paint something for myself too...erm no hold on I\'m doing that planning thing again. :)

My goal is trying to compete in the Fozzbozz Fenryll paint competition twice (already one in, one to go).
Try to get atleast 1 fig into every Wyrd competition Frustrated father throws at us and hopefully enter the cmon \"sin-city\" one too.
Maybe some miniatures besides those.
Maybe sculpt a bit, one maybe 2 figs for 2006.

But all of these are not writen in stone. Due to my new study besides my daytimejob and the amount of work and inturnship-time requered for it (basically work but without the pay... knowledge is pay... yeah :p ... well I chose for the study myself, noone told me to, so have only myself to blame).. I think I might have very little miniature-time. So I definatly will step back from the production amount of 2005 and 2004 (which was a rather big heap of figures sculpt and paint)... If I get to get about 20% done this year compared to last year.. I\'m happy.

Now that\'s a goal I can get on board with -- gotta keep it realistic! ;)

Actually, I thought this thread was something else when I saw the title -- a list of all the upcoming contests and their dates. Could that possibly make a good sticky thread: a chronological list of the due dates (for online contests) or event dates (for actual events like GDs) that can be kept in one spot, for anyone to easily reference at any time? We\'ve already got, what, Fenryll and CMoN and the Games Days, probably more that I haven\'t paid attention to... and future dates could then be added to the list as they\'re announced. Or maybe somebody\'s painting site already keeps such a calendar?

Thanks to NoSuchAgency for the cautionary notes on my ambitions for 2006. I have duly noted the advice with gratitude. I have been looking through your portfolio on CMON, NSA, and have seen your impressive development as a painter. The more recent scores compared to those in earlier years do not reflect the substantial improvement in your technique, style and use of colour. Your recent offerings show in particular the comparative richness of your current pallet, which brought to mind your caution that I should not bring realism through drab colours. Thanks for your interest in my plans, I appreciate it.

Well, at this point my goal for 2006 is to actually get a project finished, since I didn\'t get a single one done in 2005 ;)

Brushlicker and Freak!
Hmmmm, well I painted 5 minis last year, one was for the tsunami, 2 for other people and 2 for GD.

So this year I want to try the following.

Finish my small LoTD army.
Finish my Dwarf army.
Finish my SoB/demonhunters/witchunters army
Start my tyrannids army
Start my ultramarines army (these will be a themed pair)
Start my new wood elf army
Finish my 40k orc army

Then I want to do some themed minis, probably as mini armies, first is space wolfs converted from chaos warriors, second is undead marines. I also want to do some ogryns based on the new ogres.

Finally I have one mini to paint for someone and I would like to do some showpiece work on the various odds and ends from hasslefree, harbringer, rackham etc etc I have kicking about.

For GD I have the following in various stages of conception - a zombie WFB unit, a skeleton on horse, Leman Russ (all more or less converted already), then the unbound psyker from a pic in one of the inquisitor 40k codexes, a dwarf organ gun, something for LOTR probably Arwen on foot and mounted. Finally I have a neat little idea for a rather funky guy summoning a rather funky demon, for duel or open if they do away with duel.

Well that should keep me busy... taking bets now that I paint like 4 minis again next year :D
