Ever got so f***ed off with a mini you\'ve just smeared it in every colour your have or hammered it flat on the patio?!

Very satisfying

I\'m very patient BUT... I\'ve got 3 kids. So I cannot afford to be overly patient otherwise painting any mini would take 3 years!

Once I get a really good idea for a color scheme in my head, I\'m pretty impatient. I\'m especially impatient on waiting for primer to dry before I start putting the paint on. My worst impatience is in assembling/converting, though. I never drill the holes deep enough (or sometimes not at all) because I\'m too eager to get the thing put together so I can start painting it.:D

LoL! Totally true. I usually find that I have a pretty good deal of patience and drive when I first start. Somewhere around the time I should be doing touch ups and final details though, I get impatient and/or lose interest. I think it\'s because I can kinda see what it\'s supposed to look like already and I just don\'t want to sit there and do something like paint little gems on armor anymore. Makes my eyes go funny.

I especially hate when I lose patience in assembling or modifying a figure. My poor high elf cavalry are going to need some help after an aborted attempt to put Japanese style back banners on them. Of course, with my patience, I\'ll probably just file down the areas and reprime. :p Sometimes even just pinning and gluing appendages on makes me want to put them down and paint something that\'s in progress and ready already.

My painting table is the graveyard of ambition. I wouldn\'t say I have patience problems, rather I just fill my time with other stuff and painting hasn\'t grabbed me by the balls for quite a while. Reading a lot again, so that\'s good news.

it\'s not often i find myself laughing out loud whilst sitting in front of the computer by myself, but smearing your mini in every paint colour, or smashing it flat with a hammer - just because you\'ve got the $hit$ with it.
now that\'s hilariouslol

I love to paint. I can sit there for hours painting a single gem, if an only if it is a character piece and the gem is something important. Painting detail is what I enjoy most.

So I started with a Dark Elf army. Got a little tired of looking at dark elves and wanted something that would be quick to paint as a distraction; enter the Tomb Kings. Now some will say they can paint an entire unit in an evening - I do five minis without even getting past the bone. But I don\'t mind too much, I\'ll plod along, I\'m patient in painting. :innocent:

Where I have absolutely no bloody patience whatsoever is when I\'m cleaning a unit of 24 damned skeleton warriors prior to assembly. I hate that, I hate that, I hate that! Makes me want to put all the uncleaned bits in a packet and jump on \'em an\' squash \'em, an\' marmolise \'em \'an marinade \'em in battery acid... :flame: They should come pre-cleaned. They should come pre-assembled. And with GW\'s often poorly cast pieces, they\'re just a friggin\' nightmare! :flame:

Sure, I have patience, but not for assembling plastics. :) Thank-you, Margo, I really needed that. :innocent:

Ok, what I think I\'m realizing is that I\'m MUCH less patient at waiting to see other peoples work, than in getting my own done. With this CCV, paint aid, etc...all happening, I\'m just wanting to see all your work, that\'s what\'s driving me crazy waiting!!!

Patience is a virtue.... my ass it is!

Usually I get all fired up about a new mini and off I go. Paint brushes flying everywhere.... until I hit a snag :( I get incredibly frustrated when I\'ve painted a lot of the figure really well (at least I think so) but I get stuck on something - typically FACES!

This happened with my CCV mini recently. I was all for chucking the damn thing out of the window or hitting it with something really hard. :flame:

I think Avicenna saw a side of me he\'s not seen before :( Even when I went to bed I was still spitting feathers about it. He was great though and just let me rant and rave until I fell asleep!! lol Good job one of us has the patience of a Saint

i dont think saints had much patience.

considering it took 3 miracles....after the first 2 and they knew they only had one to go...i am sure they rushed to find it.

lol

i find patience=concentration

as the americans say: i get into the zone sometimes when i paint and produce really great stuff in a few hours. the most i have ever spent painting a mini is 12 hours. i have painted full 3 meter X 2meter canvasses in that time, quite often more than one. the worst thing is when you start something an then question why you are doing it. i have had the same feeling as Tooshy: i used to get most of my best ideas late at night just before bed and it would drive me crazy! quite often i find that i put stuff aside and then come back to it.

a good idea to solve \'painting contest syndrome\' is to paint a warm up figure (often this turns out ot be the actually contest entry) as this helps to relax you and thus the concentration come easier.

one other weird thing. i find it much esier to be patient while sculpting than whilst painting. maybe it\'s the learning experience that helps you be more patient???
