\"in retrospect, viewing that particular pewter model sculpt of a scaled down fictional orc character, I find that the overall greenness of the skin adds an air of believabilty to an otherwise fantastical situation. And furthermore, I suggest that the orc character is indeed a metaphor for the dark side of the human experience, lending credibility to the fact that indeed man is inherently evil\"
I disagree. I believe Tolkein\'s orcs were supposed to symbolize what man could become if stripped of his ability to appreciate beauty and the natural world. They represent the possibility that industrialization and urbanization could create a race of cruel, ignorant beings who had never seen the sun or a flower. Tolkein believed evil surroundings made men evil.

Exactly. That is how I respond everytime someone says that to me!;)

dead lemur....lol

Working where i do there are so many expressions that i loath... but most [at the moment]

Generic formless questions, eg:
How do i paint a space marine...

And folk arguing over realism... i wish i could reply. \"Yes, i can see how you would have a problem with that. It is very unrealistic when applied to an 8\' tall genetically enhanced superhuman aged 150 and wearing what equates to a tank, whilst fighting in the name of a corpse on a throne.
You\'re also absolubtly right when you complain that Ork blood should not be red. I distinctly remember various scientific journals containing articles involving the dissection of dead Orks and discovering that their blood is as you say...\"
