well, i posted this mini in another thread already, so some of you may have seen him, but i think it was mostly overlooked. good info there, and i think im going to start another about advanced metallic techniques to include this info and anything else i can find on the subject, interested? my mini has been waiting for a while (no problem with that btw, we all need a vacation from time to time) and id like some feedback before i start my next termi.

edit: yay! its active!

here is the link to valerioi the gkt

what do you think? i already have 2 more complete, in the more plain style of the others, but ill touch them up with some needless freehand before i post them ;).

thanks to EArkham, andaah, and everyone else in the other thread for the inspiration.

Nice job. i think the gilding is good but could be thinner (Stuffed If I could do it or even want to). Did the vote thing.

Undoubtedly well painted but for me the presentation is too busy; too many colours and the gilded metal effect is too \"loud\" - it needs to be subdued.

thanks for all the great feedback everyone! i never imagined it would be as well received as is has been.

the guilding doesnt stand out nearly so much IRL - photographing a mini with so many metallics was quite a challenge. they are so reflective that subtle differences in lighting, and paint will cause areas to \"pop\" unusually. i had to cut my lighting in half, and it was still a problem.
the black bacground i used to remove shadows is actually the inside of my jacket lol, thats why it has that strange textue. in the future ill invest in some black paper.

as for the bright color choice - i guess you could say that its part of my \"style.\"

once again, THANKS! you have all been very supportive, and from a group as talented as yourselves! i feel honored. ill chalk this one up to luck, but ill do my best to keep \'em coming.
