Now, now Mike you know we all like to have a real life size army of figures that we will never get aound to painting and if we ever did it would take a week to finish a game :D

As for parting you with your hard earned cash isn\'t that their goal at all times along with other big companies?

I remember reading a few weeks ago about Apocalypse (but can\'t remember where) that along with the plastic Baneblade they are also releasing a Stomper Gargant, with other large goodies to be released in the future depending on how well Apocalypse sells. Rumour had it that they also have plastic drop pods in the pipe line...

The new marines are coming out around the same time and are a lot more action posed from what I have seen on Warseer i.e. a foot on a rock etc and there are also new Commissars for the Guard as well as Ogryns.

The rules are for 40K forces of 3000 points upwards and is supposed to be an expansion on the rules to let you play this size of game with tips/suggestions etc from what I have read it sounds similar to that of City Fight and Cities of Death or something similar to the Siege rules for WHFB but for very large battles.

So do you go to the Golden Demon registration or to the normal way in to grab the new goodies first???

As you know yourself from last year Neil it didn\'t make a blind bit of difference and saps were paying twice the release price on EBay by the afternoon for the sake of wanting it before they were officially released.

it\'s only because of the rain that the none gd entrants got in at the same time.

saying that, many people que up with the gd entrants and just walk straight through without entering.

Well, with this new apocalypse coming out, Im pretty much already ready to go, all I want is the rest of my tanks from nz, (the other half of them) some more ravenwing, a few of those veterans, chapter council (which Ive pretty much got), and this new masters of the chapter jobbie.

Who wants a game?

I promise I wont throw huge amounts of deathwing at you.

...maybe...

I\'d like to see the chapter master, too. I\'ll be making my own chapter eventually, after I\'ve done the other 5 armies that are in the queue. And that\'s just the GW stuff, I\'ll be working on several DBA armies as well.

Actually last year that line was soo slow that by the time I got in and entered and got to the sales area all the good stuff was already gone. Apparently because it was raining they let people in the regular line a little early too.

But yeah people were being piggy and buying up loads of the pre release stuff only with the intention of listing it to eBay for profit.

Oh, I understand that it is considerably cheaper than the FW one.

I just think its silly to pay that much for a really bad model tank.

I know its been a while since Ive done any historical models, but how does it compare size for cost wise against historical tanks.

I know I used to get some bloody huge things for 95US bucks.

And I was in NZ, and all you could get pretty much was tamiya stuff, or hyper expensive stuff that only a couple of shops stocked, and I dont think ever shifted.

OH a new land raider and a IG tank company and huzzah! a new Ork codex in January sounds like we may be living in interesting times

Im reaching into my memory, and from whats already up on the direct sales site, you get a command squad, 6 tacticals, 2 devastator, 2 assault, a bunch of rhinos, Im not sure if they all get transport, a couple of predators, and a couple of dreadnoughts.

Not bad value I guess.

Depends on where you are getting them but you can get anywhere from 1 to 4 kits in 1/35 scale -

Best example I can come up with off the top of my head - for $80 USD I got 2 Lee Tanks (1/35) 2 Russian SP guns and a Armored Model T (1/35) - all for conversion for use in my IG army. And that included shipping.
