Now, now Mike you know we all like to have a real life size army of figures that we will never get aound to painting and if we ever did it would take a week to finish a gameOriginally posted by Dragonsreach
Cynically: It\'s a way of GW getting you to part with even more cash to get multiples of stuff you\'ll never paint in order to play games that you\'ll never finish in a day against people with more money than sense.
Or
It\'s a variation on the Warhammer 40,000 core game which will allow you to expand any army up to a divorce threatening level.
As for parting you with your hard earned cash isn\'t that their goal at all times along with other big companies?
I remember reading a few weeks ago about Apocalypse (but can\'t remember where) that along with the plastic Baneblade they are also releasing a Stomper Gargant, with other large goodies to be released in the future depending on how well Apocalypse sells. Rumour had it that they also have plastic drop pods in the pipe line...
The new marines are coming out around the same time and are a lot more action posed from what I have seen on Warseer i.e. a foot on a rock etc and there are also new Commissars for the Guard as well as Ogryns.
The rules are for 40K forces of 3000 points upwards and is supposed to be an expansion on the rules to let you play this size of game with tips/suggestions etc from what I have read it sounds similar to that of City Fight and Cities of Death or something similar to the Siege rules for WHFB but for very large battles.
