Possibly the most disturbing thing I\'ve ever seen

My God. This is one of those stories so extreme you might find it hard to buy in a fictional context like a Gothic Horror novel. That it\'s real is just, unbelievable.

The town were this tragedy happened is not that far away from my hometown.

We followed the case in the news last week when the 19 year old daughter was found, but never thought that this would turn out this way. That her own father....

Our whole country is in shock, its unbelieveable....It makes me sick...

I\'m sorry, but the only thoughts that come to me as a fitting punishment violate several thousand sets of moral codes and legal definitions.

I\'m the father of an 8 month old girl. I have no reservations about making the punishment fit the crime - moral, legal, or any other way. There was a medieval torture, where a man would be hung from the ceiling by his balls, until they eventually popped off. My biggest concern over this would be that it is not nearly painful enough, and would be over too quickly.

As for the wife and the police ... the sad truth is, strong willed women don\'t marry domineering bastards, and the police don\'t have the time or interest in tracking down runaways. They\'ve already got their hands full with the other sick bastards who rape and murder in the streets.

This is one of those things that I\'d be better off not knowing.

And, I hate to say it, but the press seems to get excited over stories like this. Anything where there is a sex slave, or a torrid molestation...the media almost glorifies it.

Same with the death of a baby. Unfortuanately, babies die all the time and the media says not a word, but have some shithead of a parent leave the baby in the car in sweltering heat, and it makes national news. Reporting things that happen is part of the medias responsibility, but when did they all turn into sensationalist rubber neckers, hoping for a tittalating gorefest?

I\'ll just continue to live in my hole, blissfully unaware of the shit they spew....maybe someday reason will prevail over ratings.

Amazingly disgusting. Many things seriously wrong there with some significant denials going on.

This case does sound like one where it would be quite easy to determine guilt (via DNA testing). I\'m tempted to actually endorse fieldarchy\'s execution idea, but I think something more fitting, if slower, might be better.

I haven\'t read much about it apart from headline news and I won\'t do it either. I feel a slight nausea when I think about it. You can\'t really describe this with words, can you?

Same here. I heard a little bit on the radio and that was more than enough. That little bit left me shocked and has left a disturbing feeling. Dont need more details.

reverend; Thanks for that link.
A bit of brightness in an otherwise depressing story.

If you\'re coming to Warhammer world on 27th July I\'ll stand you a pint for that.

wow, he deserves the most painfullly slow death imaginable, however its these kind of stories that intrigue us so, be it not how sick they are. but in that update, the end kind of threw it off with that idiot claiming \"they should have been left in their cellar\".

so what was his fate? or is it yet to be determined?

The \"idiot\" knows what she is talking about, look up her name. What she ment was that the shock of the real world can be harmful when you have lived all your life locked in a cellar. They might have needed some time to acclimatise. It is a reasonable point.

See I read some more...

No. Their world has been turned upside down by their release from what has been their very limited world.
Allowing time to acclimatise to the outside world but having the ability to return to the environment which they have known will possibly allow them to overcome the massive culture shock that they will be going through.

They are going to need time and some serious councilling as the true enormity of their Father/Grandfather actions hit home.
I really feel sorry for their situation, not only are they going to be the subject of massive media feeding frenzy but a huge amount of psychiatrists will be interested in following their transition and lives.
Going from one enclosed prison to another, only this one is in the open world.

I suppose there may have been an issue of not really being able to grant them their privacy in their home. They wouldn\'t really have been able to just go outside when they wanted with the media intrusion.
