Pristress of the Moon Goddess

It\'s been a awful long time, but I finaly managed to finish and photograph a new mini.
So here she is, Early Winter from Dark Sword, as a Pristress.
I\'m not so happy about the hair. It\'s the first time I realy tried black hair, and at first I got the highlights way to light, but now they look to muted. In the pic you can barely see them.
Also the blade is kind of strange, I just didn\'t get the copper right.
But beside that, I\'m quite satisfied with her. I think the face turned out nicely, and I like the blue of the mantle. I didn\'t highlighted it a high as I normaly do, but it got a nice nightsky tone.
I plan to put her in a small diorama, with an alter, some kind of sacrifice going on. Any idea what to sacrifice to a moon goddess?
That\'s also the reason why I didn\'t finish the base, I just painted it in basetones.

Anyway, all suggetions how to improve are very welcome.

Well, while I\'m at it, here\'s my new version of Kelen, the thirteenth voice.

The blue looks very rich. Me likey.
The blade has too much white for copper. At most it should have just a pinpoint of white. Try highlighting with either tan or a dusky yellow instead.
The moon glows nicely.

Thanks.
I painted the blade multible times, but it didn\'t get right, so I just left it at it. I\'ll go over it again, and try to make the white highlights smaller. I painted it in dark flesh and paraside brown, so tan would be to dark. And why yellow, copper is reddish, wouldn\'t it look strange?

Scoped out and voted. :D Gotta agree on the blue. Neat amount of \"pop\" to it. The arm kinda bothers me for some reason, but it\'s the sculpt...I think...more than the paint job. The eyes also look pretty clean...much cleaner than anything I\'ve accomplished recently.

What recipe did you use for the hair? Valander gave me a neat recipe that he pulled from the one used by some historical mini painters that I\'ve dabbled once, with moderate success.

I painted the hair black, then I highlighted it in 2-3 layers up to nightblue. Afterwards, I used a black wash over it. Nothing special, just the best I could think of.

those look pretty good paintjobs too me, but the picture quality is too poor to give a decent rating.

I gave them both a 6, judging from what I could see.

I have a couple of ideas for the sacrifice. If you are looking for something less bloody, perhaps some sort of \"night\" plant or flower, such as an evening primrose or mandrake root (I have no idea what those look like, but I am sure there are photos on the internet somewhere.).
For the more gruesome sacrifice, a sheep might be appropriate. Selene, one of the Greek moon goddesses, fell in love with a handsome shepard and asked Zeus to make him eternally youthful by having an eternal sleep. What about a rooster? That critter signals the start of the day (or the end of the night, as it were...) Some random thoughts at 1:30 in the morning--hope they at least spark an idea :)

Hey, that\'s good, thanks. I\'ll try the plants, I was never one for blood, but it will be awful fricly. If it doesn\'t work out, I might still use the sheep.

...I love the Priestess, her dark hair and skin look really cool! Her cloak is nice too with the freehand, the moon has a lovely glowing effect! The blade on Kelen is cool but my favourite parts are the wings, great colouring there! Good luck with your diorama :D
