Dons M1 Steel helmet.....locates comfy chair and retires to a safe distance................

That\'s not very fair to Alexi_z. I doubt she photoshops her stuff since her last model had a host of visible errors that could be seen. The backgrounds she does, yes. Why photoshop something and leave your mistakes?? She may not be the nicest most mentally stable person here but lets be realistic...

As for this \'dread you guys are bashing... 5 for me. It\'s strictly tabletop. If you don\'t believe me go to a Grand Tournament or even just a games night at a GW store and you\'ll see what common tabletop quality really is.:~(

*tongue in cheek now*
If you were do to a search on ebay for pro-painted you find that this figure is a prime example of that. Except for the odd figure that is actually rather well-done and has mistaken been labelled so, you would find the vast majority of pro-painted figs on ebay make this look like a masterpiece.lol

@SaxonAngel : Although I\'ve never sold anything on eBay, I fully understand what you call the \"bashing\" that people have been doing here (and I stand by that 4.5 I gave) for two reasons :

1. Suppose your a collectioner, how can you do a quick search on eBay if everybody is putting \"pro painted\"in their description?

2. Art is a subjectif domain. OK most minis at a Grand Tournament will look like this, but this is not my idea of table top quality. Saying that, I have no problem with somebody else saying it is. But when somebody says they\'re doing some pro paint job, I\'d expect at least an 8/10 rating here.

I admit that some reactions are clearly harsh in this thread, but I think that revaluating Recoil889 claims was necessary, and if he/she does what I suggested above, he/she should improve and sell at a better price.

My 2 euro cents :).

BLUSHING BLUSHING....

Yep. Tabletop for me 4.5. About this \'pro\' thing. I must admit that I have used that term when I first started selling on ebay and probably would use it again. I know don\'t shoot me, I hate the term myself and I feel it gets other painters backs up but unfortunately the ebay search engine doesn\'t find the best painted mini. :) so you have to use the term to get amongst the rest. I\'d say pro painted is the most common search tag for ebayers wanting painted minis. Some listings do make me laugh though.

Oh welcome to the forums.

I think about a year ago Tammy suggested changing terminology, something like ... maybe \"artistically painted\" ... can\'t remember. The only thing that worries me about that is whatever the superior level is called, \"table top painters\" are going to use it too.

Actually what I find completely insane is the argument that since your selling it it\'s pro. I\'d say since it\'s on eBay then your selling it, and if it\'s a top notch paint job then it\'s a \"pro paint job\"; anything else is false publicity IMHO.

Man, it really cracks me up that so many people think they can just slap some paint on a mini and call it a \"pro\" paint job.

@ greenstuff: Before i started painting again after years of doing nothing i bought a landspeeder from ebay that was supposed to be pro painted. The photo was really bad and i was pretty naive to it all. When i recieved it i was shocked that it wouldn\'t even pass for a tabletop standard (lesson learnt) I just gave him negative feedback saying \'stated pro painted but was not\' I felt abit of a s**t doing this but i would like to think that i put someone back in his/her place. :) Plus i felt better doing it as i had fallen for the \'its a bad photo but but it might be really good\' trick. :)

Damn, I\'ve typed way too many letters and words....i better go :)

*Hobbles back to my little hobbit hole with paint brush in hand. :)

first off, I wouldn\'t make a comment like that without some sort of proof, and as soon as Tiff can figure out what\'s wrong with photobucket, I will post it for you guys to see.

second, Saxon, I\'ve known way too many stupid people that do the dumbest things so who knows why all the mistakes? on the other hand, maybe it\'s a really smart move on Alexi\'s part. I mean, if it looks TOO perfect, everyone will question it, however, if there does appear to be some sort of mistake or two so that it looks more beliveable, that would be the smart way to do it
