What are these references to the R Lobinske jobbie or the R Lobinske days?

All I know about him is that he is/was a very active and smart poster on the hobby GW forums...

In all actuality I think rlobinske just got off on the wrong foot here on the forums..

http://www.coolminiornot.com/forums/viewthread.php?tid=1793

but then proceeded to step into it with the other foot...

Unfortunately, he has become somewhat of a \'legend of the forums\', infamously of course. I just think he rubbed some people the wrong way, and then just kept on rubbing...

Hey Rev, yes by now you know it\'s from the infamous rlobinske thread. I guess I just liked how you used the \"realistic style\" to criticise him.

NSA, I agree GW is like any other business, but how many other CEO\'s make 800k a year selling(only) toy soldiers? Oh well, at least it lets the Steve Buddles of the world dream of big plans for their companies:)

....and comics, posters, art prints, t-shirts, novels, calenders, vac formed scenery, badges, pendants, not to mention franchised computer games, swords and collectable pre painted statues...a museum a pub, not to mention all the money tied up in other businesses....

GW is a multinational, multi media company, who\'s toy soldier branch might be the most visualk and prolific, but is surely NOT the sum of it\'s parts....or the most profitable.

It\'s amazing, I never fail to learn something when I come hear. A while ago it was the WA thread, today it\'s Rlobinske.

these things I learn could all be lumped under Things that make me laugh.

Steelcult, cheers for giving me my first belly laugh of the day lol a quality post!

R Lobinske t-shirts should be sold on every street corner.

Did I hear someone say that they have a GW-related pub? I\'m looking at you Ms Haye! I\'m intrigued.

Thanks for the reminder Tammy. I had heard that Steve Jackson and Ian Linvingstone started GW.
Apparently they don\'t talk anymore but that could be another malicious rumour.

Is it just me or does anyone else think that \'Warhammer World\' is just a little bit pretentious?
Do GW really love themselves that much?

Yeah, I read those threads too. I got interested in what caused it all and I did a google search on \"RLobinske\". I found him active in some other communities. I think I understand what his \"natural style\" is about (i found some LOTR minis of his). Problems is, though, that it doesn\'t look very good. I think, based on the look of his minis and on some advice he gave someone somewhere, that he wants his minis to look like photos of \"real\" people from a distance. Problem is you have to see the minis from a distance too for this to work. Close up, they look like crap.

Warhammer world is a pretentious name for what is essentially a warhammer fortress themed gaming room with a shop and a display of \'stuff\', all \'in character\' so to speak. Not to mention Bugman\'s Bar.

Its actually really well done

Warhammer World is definitely on my list of stops for the next time I am in the UK. However, I will need to convince my fiancee to come with me.

Thankfully, Cadbury World is quite close.
