so i have been reading that protesters are now bringing guns and showing them openly at these meetings. wait let me explain... they are standing just outside of the meetings in a public area and displaying their weapons for all to see. this just seems a bit much for me. i never knew of people bringing guns to meetings when bush was in office. now they are bringing them in front of obama. claiming out loud its their right to do so. which is fine by me with the guns..... but the tact for this is just ....i dont know..... WRONG..... a thing called intelligence seems to be sorely lacking of late in america and i for one am appalled. i know i will tick a few of you off, but dang man.....its not like obama is the antichrist. which btw a teacher at my school firmly believes and tells her students at any chance she gets. anyhow.... discuss.

p.s. and yes i know her saying it in school is wrong...but this be the bible belt.

It is funny that every time there is a new US president I have been witness to someone calling them an antichrist. Clinton was antichrist, w. bush was antichrist, and now obama. I guess just being president of the US means you are the antichrist.

@ airhead - I can post the link to where I saw about the young(black) man with the gun. BUT it is a LIBERAL site so you may have to control your gag reflex :D.

link to the damn liberals

Now as to why we should discuss this? First off why not? The original post might not go into the details of why uber thinks it is wrong but so what, he had a question and a view point, sounds like a perfect excuse for a discussion really.

I don\'t think the idea that since nothing happened then there is nothing to talk about because in fact something has happened, whether it goes further or not is something we are yet to see.

The issue as I see it is this. You currently have a situation where the level of anger seems to be increasing. Both sides are organising people to go to those meetings and in fact there have been physical confrontations on a number of occassions. For either side to start arming themselves has the potential to esculate things to another level. Was it illegal? Well that wasn\'t actually what was being discussed is it?

I know I am probably going to have to come back and expand on this but, SIGH, time is short so.....
