Another friend was being hasselled by some kids in town for being goth, he turned round to them and said \"I\'m not goth, I\'m F***ING industrial\" Well it was funny at the time...

When I was at university, one of the lads in my halls (shit hole on earth that should have been condemned) was referred to as Goth Dave. His name was Dave and he looked like a goth (in comparison to the rest of us who just looked pretty much normal). He had long black hair, black nail polish, long black leather coat, big goth boots, facial piercings, and the almost obligatory Cradle of Filth t-shirt. In our eyes he was a goth, but one day he had a bit of a strop and said \'I\'m not a goth, you should call me Heavy Metal Dave\'. He looked nothing like the trad metal fellas!

[Disclaimer - My musical tastes are many and varied, my clothes do not show my allegience to a particular subculture, and I do not have any piercings or tattoos]

hehehehe.....it\'s getting a bit weird with me. My first experience with sub cultures was when I was 14 and declared myself a headbanger....Iron Maiden has a lot to answer for.
Then I slowly moved into punk when I got older and puberty really kicked in. I had a short fling with sporting dreads, then shaved my head, then painted my hair all kinds of colours.
Now people can\'t place me, and it\'s confusing to them. I would happily wear townie clothes and go to some trendy techno bar one evening, and the next hang around in the local goth pub. Although I do wear a lot of clothes that are uniform in certain sub cultures, i guess that i just go along with whatever night is happening. My musical tastes and my circle of friends is too varied to restrict myself to fitting in to one particular group.

hehe, that sounds like me, I never really stopped being anything, I just expanded and branched out adding new things. I still listen to music I was listening to 20 years ago.

Last Saturday I went to an open air rock concert. My wife suggested, having never been to a rock concert, that we take some blankets and chairs....How I laughedlol

I told her that the most useful thing she could take was a bin bag to either sit on, if we got the chance, or wear if it rained.
Having been a veteran of open-air concerts in the 70s...I thought I knew my stuff:flip:

When we actually got there, to my horror I found we were the only ones who hadn\'t taken chairs, tables picnic hampers, sun loungers and the like. Kids had even bought their bikes. Most people seemed to be sitting around picnic tables quaffing wine and eating chicken drumsticks wondering who the two nerds sat on bin bags were:duh:
Times have indeed changed:flip:

fitting in

When I cared about fitting in I never could so I just gave up.
I listened mostly to classical and opera until 9th grade, then discovered rock music and had to start with the 1950s and move forward. By high school I was kind of stuck in the late 60s early 70s, favorite bands being the Who and the Kinks.
Since this was the late 80s, I gave up on musical taste as a common bond since I never met anyone who even knew who Lily was.
After college I just listen to whatever is on the radio and lately have become fond of bluegrass.

I take after my dad. I laugh when people claim to have \"eclectic tastes\" because my dad was eclectic. I don\'t know anyone else whose record collection includes Wagner, spanish bullfight music, Latin mass performed on Congolese drums, alphorn music, Elvis, the Kingston Trio, the muppet musicians of Bremen, complete works of the Gershwin brothers....
Of course I\'ve know people who thought they were eclectic because they listened to \"BOTH kinds of music, Country AND Western.\"

what we REALLY look like

Haven\'t you all heard that people always lie about what they look like on the internet?
She who claims to be a hot 18-year old college girl is really a 45 year old plumber?

That said I don\'t believe any of the pictures shown here are true, especially the beautiful women.

Of course this means that Supervike must actually be a hot 18-year old college girl.
