fitting in
When I cared about fitting in I never could so I just gave up.
I listened mostly to classical and opera until 9th grade, then discovered rock music and had to start with the 1950s and move forward. By high school I was kind of stuck in the late 60s early 70s, favorite bands being the Who and the Kinks.
Since this was the late 80s, I gave up on musical taste as a common bond since I never met anyone who even knew who Lily was.
After college I just listen to whatever is on the radio and lately have become fond of bluegrass.
I take after my dad. I laugh when people claim to have \"eclectic tastes\" because my dad was eclectic. I don\'t know anyone else whose record collection includes Wagner, spanish bullfight music, Latin mass performed on Congolese drums, alphorn music, Elvis, the Kingston Trio, the muppet musicians of Bremen, complete works of the Gershwin brothers....
Of course I\'ve know people who thought they were eclectic because they listened to \"BOTH kinds of music, Country AND Western.\"
