Rackham\'s Hirh-Karn the Enraged (new, larger photos)

Hey all! =)

As the title implies, I finished one of Rackham\'s Tir-Na-Bor dwarfs. He\'s actually the first of what will be a 12-14 man (dwarf?) Mordheim warband. I\'ll be using all Rackham dwarfs in various states of modified and straight up. They\'ll be big compared to GW models and, as such, easy targets. Ah well... I love the models too much not to use \'em. =)

Plus, I\'d rather that they look good than play good!

Please let me know what you think and I\'m very happy to hear any suggestions as to how I can improve either in general or in regards to making a uber-cool Mordheim warband.

This looks really good! There are some small areas that could use some definition but otherwise I don\'t have any major critiques. Maybe you could do the NMM slightly less blue as it goes from the highlights to the shadows. And larger pictures! :) Then you could probably get better feedback! Great work non the less! Smooth as butter!

Thanks for the comments, guys. =)

I set up a Photobucket account so I could get some larger photos up. Sheesh! I should have done that years ago. Totally easy. Anyway, here are some larger pics. Let me know what you think!

It\'s stunning until I get to the back of the base, the gravelly stuff really lets it down IMO.
Is it even painted?

I\'d recommend redoing that bit.

Sorry for the belated response. I\'ve been on planes and such. I\'m in Slovakia showing off the kid to the grand parents. =)

I\'ll admit to being busted on the back of the base. It was actually supposed to be sculpted cobblestones. Part of a ruined courtyard to go with the whole Mordheim theme \'n\' all. However, I was running out of time and really wanted to post pics before I hopped on the plane so the rocks are my temp fix.

I won\'t repost after I finish the base, but once I get the next member of the warband done I\'ll sneak in a shot of the two of them together.

Thanks again for the comments and the votes. It means a lot to me coming from the membership of this site. CMON is a constant source of inspiration and keeps pushing me to raise the bar on my own painting and conversions.

Looks great. I think the NNM and the tarnish/weathering on the armor looks great. Also love the detail on the eyes and just the face in general.

Yah. I\'m not gonna rush it with the warband. Hopefully they\'ll be this standard or better. Always hoping to improve. =)

Thanks for the compliments on the face. I intend to add a tiny highlight to the eyes, actually. Again, just ran out of time before my trip.

One thing that I\'d really like to improve on is lighter colored flesh tones. I feel like I have pretty good control of this \'tanned\' color, but I\'d love to be able to pull off a real pale flesh tone. Haven\'t been happy with any that I\'ve tried yet.
