Alright, here\'s my random rant for the day:

I\'m am getting really sick of this whole obsession with being green. I\'m all for environmental responsibility but it seems to me that it is becoming more and more of a fashion statement and it\'s growing to absurd levels. Everything is green these days and it\'s getting to the point that everytime I hear the word it makes me roll my eyes.

I mean really, having the halftime show of the football game by candlelight? What about the cameras and the teleprompters and the... It\'s insulting to the public intelligence.

Used to, the word \'green\' would conjure up images of pastures, forests, meadows, and the occasional ork. Now I just see politics and attention whoring.

So what\'s been getting your goat? Please vent...I\'m interested to know some peeves.

In all seriousness, I am really sick of quacks duping desperate patients with fantastic claims about supplements and alternative medicine practices that don\'t work. It is disgusting to take advantage of people that way.

Waiting is getting my goat. This is more of a personal issue than a world wide one but heres the thing. I\'m having issues at home and have to wait for the money guys before I can do anything about it. I\'m having a hard time at work and have to wait until I have my home life settled before I can do anything about it. I\'m having issues finalizing my vacation, the first real vacation I\'ve had since like \'95 and I have to wait for my bosses to get off their duffs and do a schedule bid.

There are other things as well but basically everything in my life is on hold at the moment and I\'m sick of waiting! :evil:

Mattrock, Same thing as you mate. This whole green thing is complete Bullsh*t, you can even go on green hollidays to resorts that boast green ideals even though you have just flown there.

My take on this whole Environmental issues crap is that the Governement denied anything was wrong for so long just to anger people into becoming green and then doing a U turn to the policies they wanted in the first place back in the 70s.

Easiest way to get people to do something which is not in their best interest is to make them beleive your against it and at the same time blow it out of all proportion, then as the public sways to what you want them to beleive in the first place do a U turn and claim they were right afterall, problem sorted and you didnt have to force anyone to do anything, they just convinced themselves.

The general public are a funy bunch, if the government were to push the green thing right from the start back in the 70s then the public would have refused to beleive anything was wrong.

I totally agree mattrock. Nowadays when i hear the term \'carbon footprint\' i cringe!

also, recently our local council had another \'recycle drive\', we got leaflets through saying how it was thier aim to recycle such & such an amount each month. Hell, somebody even came up with an absurd idea to charge homes who didnt recycle stuff more in council tax! although that idea was quickly rubbished (pun intended)
Now this is all very good in theory, however, where i live we have 2 wheelie-bins for stuff to be recycled (thats between 8 households! They are usually full up after a week)
Now for the punchline: The cleansing department of the council, in order to save money, have cut the working hours of the refuse collection workforce, so the recycle bins only get emptied once every 4 weeks now!

Ok, ive had my rant....gonna lie down in the dark for a while now......

Also, Even though I dont drive, Traffic police and the whole speeding\\no insurance thing gets my back up.

Watched a program last night on TV about traffic cops (UK) they were talking about people with no insurance killing 100+ people a year. Now I accept that any deaths are bad but are they realy trying to tell me that if these people had insurance they wouldent have had the same accidents? Do they realy have to insult my intelligence. The other thing they said was that it costs people another £30 on insurance because of these people. BULL.

Ive always thought it was supposed to be CRIME PREVENTION and not LETS WAIT UNTILL SOMEONE DOES SOMETING WRONG AND THEN ARREST THEM. Unmarked police cars driving along the motorway waiting for people to drive past them at high speed to catch them, if they were in a normal police car they wouldent speed in the first place, crime prevented. Speed cameras is another thing.

With some estates suffering from being terrorised by some kids and adults alike wouldent it be better to police these areas rather than motorways hoping someone might break the law so that they can fulfill their quota.

Thats the other thing, the police having quotas to fulfill, WTF.

Disabled drivers parking in Mother and Baby spaces realy pisses me off also, they already have more than enough spaces provided for them and moan and complain like hell if somepne who is not disabled parkes in a space designated as disabled yet they think its ok to park in M&B spaces. Sorry but when you have 3 children aged 1, 2 and 4 who sit in chairs which are difficult to get access to in the first place, you realy do need the extra space provided by these spaces.

Something else that really burns me up:

When traffic backs up in one lane (typically a turning lane or an exit lane on the freeway) and five million cars rush past in the other lane, only to force their way into traffic ahead of all the people who\'ve been waiting, thereby slowing traffic even slower. I think we ought to all be able to write down license plate numbers of people who do asinine stuff like this and submit them to some kind of lottery where one is chosen per day to be obliterated by an apache helicopter and recorded and broadcast on the evening news for the good of the community.

And that\'s why I\'m not traffic czar. lol

Also hate it when cyclists ride in the main lanes on state highways (happens all the time here) and when road work crews disperse themselves over every major artery in town rather than concentrating their efforts on one area to get the job DONE. All ironically done in the name of improving traffic.

What annoys me wih disabled drivers is when you see them park up and then get out the car and walk away as if there is nothing wrong with them...
