I\'d have to agree with what the others have said so far. Whilst you may feel agrieved, there has been no illegal or immoral actions taken by the other darkart.

Undoubtably he was unaware of the similarity between the two names (as pointed out in the link you provided, \"Darkart\" isn\'t unique to you), but by displaying private correspondance between the two parties (I assume you didn\'t have his permission), you have turned the objective parties against you. Furthermore, it doesn\'t matter what cmon thinks about the situation. No good can come from you continuing this course of action, it would be better for you to drop it.

You know you could have paid to register your biz name if you were that bothered. It gives a little legal protection against \'passing off\'. However, I reckon you aint got a leg to stand on here.

Shame the business name is so generic really....

Oh, and I presume that as you are a business, you are registered for tax purposes? Wouldn\'t want to be bandying about threats of legal action whilst evading HMC now, would we!lol

Wow. I don\'t know what to say really...i think everyone else has said it for me. I didn\'t get chance to read whatever was posted by the other similar but yet totally different named user before it got deleted but i can only imagine judging by the behaviour of the user it wasn\'t nice nor professional. And i don\'t think i even need to visit another forum to understand where this is going. This was the \'Really tried of pro\'s\' thread which seams to have gone of the tracks a little....sorry Tony.

*edited: okay so i couldn\'t resist, i looked on the other forum. You really do have a cheek putting private emails on public forums but i think you have only shot yourself in the foot in doing so. I haven\'t sworn yet but i have got to agree with Reverend. One thing you will notice on this site is that folk say what they feel and i think everyone as given you more than a hint......i can\'t be bothered talking about it anymor.........

I\'m not bragging here as i know I\'m not the best painter here by a long shot but heres my version pretty much half done.

Erm if the first pic is to an \'amazing standard\' them I\'m a master and folk in the top 100 are gods.....erm...well the last bit might actually be true.

This means he had it on a book-shelf in his university dorm, easily viewable by his gaming group when they played there (all of whom can\'t paint for $#!^)... and on Degree Exhibitions... It was used as a paper-weight at a demonstration of Degree deodorant. Plainly visible, but irrelevant.

I have always looked at it the same way as cool; if you have to tell people you are cool, you most likely aren\'t.
If you have to tell people you are \'pro\' or that your work is \'pro\' quality...

Just kidding, THERE IS NO RHYME OR REASON to the voting and the whole \"system\" is based on the Chaos Theory

If you read the cr@p in the link, it all boils down to the butterfly Effect. If the first fifty people like you and vote high (let\'s say, all tens) then your score will always be artificially inflated because future voters will be influenced by what has gone before. On the other hand, if the first fifty HATE YOUR GUTS, then your score will always stink because people won\'t vote high if you\'re running a one after fifty other people thought it sucked.

Then again, Chaos Theory and Butterfly effect are all pretty much theoretical philosophical bull$hit and if you want to be a \"Pro\" you should worship Cthulhu.

I think this takes us back to the, \"You don\'t have to be \'good\' to be a pro. You just have to do it as a profession.\"

We can all laugh and pray that God have mercy on his soul on the notion that he is just kidding when he says he paints as a profession. Unless ofcourse he dreams to be living out of a carboard box.
