Ok so painting inspiration literally landed on my doorstep today.

Finari and Monique de Noir in 54mm, both from Reaper Miniatures. Both are Werner Klocke sculpts and are absolute sweetharts.

They have had a bath and a good cleaning and will be primed tonight so they will have cured and be ready for paint throwing tomorrow.

They both came with small bases in metal, but i have plans to put them on bases that have the same "look", for a sorta double feature scenic base situation.

And i have to give Reaper credit. These two minis, alongside a pot of paint for free, made it all the way from big bad US of A to Denmark in a week and a half.

These will also be some of the first minis i will try to paint to competition standard...well for me that is.

So please advise as needed.

Can't wait to see what you do buddy!
I'm actually going out to Reaper HQ today to pick her up myself! ;)

I have a soft spot for Reaper at least on the customer service front. They do good business and take care of their customers!

I love these two mini's - I was hoping to attempt them myself one day... think I'll take a ringside seat for this one...

Ooh, girlz. My favorite figures to paint. I'll be watching for sure. What color you gonna prime with?

Famous minis! You really can't go wrong with anything Werner Klocke produces. He will always be one of my favorite mini-sculptor's!! As you can see from this crappy-cheap mobile phone pic I've uploaded, Werner Klocke's "Judas Bloodspire", is sitting (prepped but not primed) on my desk. Werner Klocke minis certainly deserve extra care, love and attention when being painted;) I'll be going all-out when it comes to Judas!!! All the coolest to ya!!! Monique De Noir is such a "classic"! You're definitely in for some very "c00l" painting time. We all are! Thanks to Werner. Kick some ass painting these dudes dude.

great Mr! Can't wait to see what you do with them. Monique is a lot of fun. it's nice switching to a larger scale now and then.

I too have a Monique (waiting to be finished sadly),she's a very nice piece.Although when I was putting her together I couldn't figure out where to put that little spur thing that comes with the helmet crest things, does anyone know what I mean? If so where the hell does it go? It still perplexes me months later.

And wanted to add that I'll be purchasing a Finari now as well, all the other pic's I've seen haven't done her justice, looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Well i really wanted to have been able to present some progress, since i really feel like painting atm.

But i have not had any time for it. All my hobby time has been gobbled up by playing Flames of War, a really fun game.

And my work hours these last weeks have left me completely drained of energy when i get home, too busted to paint.

Well i had a few lucid moments this evening so i worked abit on monique. I glazed the skin to give it a more feminine glow, and worked on the robe parts

Looking very nice, Mar! My Monique is in a holding pattern for right now as I'm pissed (as usual) at the NMM. Going to have to strip the mini because the paint has too many layers and is awful. But sometimes they don't go the right direction and its just easier to get a fresh start. Hopefully I'll be able to pick her up in a day or two.

Very nice start Marj. Can't say about the flesh tone cause it's a blur ( tends to happen when one's tired or drunk ), but the cloth tones are super!!

Yeah, ill try to snap a better pic tomorrow as i started on the armor so you can see the direction i am going with this one.

Also pondering the scheme for the othher gal, thinking of an angelic look. Bright and shiny steel and gold with white cloth.
