Coat d\'arms
Sorry chaps, but having just looked through my Coat d\'arms paints and colour chart, I can state quite categorically that I see no available Metallic Red colour! They do a lovely copper though which, quite unlike other metallics, is only partly metallic and mostly an orangey, rust-coloured pigment...see it to believe it!
Of course, the problem with red metals is that the flecks are still often white/metal and as a result they seem to give a grey/pinky/red finish. If they could get tiny red flecks in there instead, we\'d be laughing lol lol lol lol lol
The best way is as others mentioned; use a deep red ink with the metal and apply patiently in layers. I say layers as there\'ll likely be a damn sight more ink than metal in there. Therefore, patience is best. Maybe even a silvery-bronze-black mix for the first layer, then silvery bronze, then silver, then wash it with red and brown ink (maybe a couple of good light glazes?) and then start your ink and metal mix. Then glaze afterwards as well! I think it\'s one of those REALLY difficult colours, eh?
As I said, thin layers, or else my incredibly complex, untried and daft method will give too much paint on a small area and obscure details...hell, I may even try this one myself!
Rev, confused and happy :innocent:
